Question about Stonehenge
There's something i dont understand, whenever i try and build stonehenge, some other civ gets it before me and i can't build it anymore. The thing is all the other civs are able to build it, because i keep getting popups that another civ has built stonehenge but i can't ...

Not sure if this makes sense,

thanks anyway!

If you're being told that multiple civs are getting Stonehenge, then something is going wrong somewhere. Try verifying files.

Only 1 civ can build Stonehenge. You might get other similar alerts about other wonders, but Stonehenge is definitely built just once.

And if you want to grab Stonehenge, first research you need to do is Astrology (before any other research). Then you can send your warrior on automatic exploration and hope to find a natural wonder to decrease the Astrology turns. As soon as Astrology is completed, you select Stonehenge right away, and increase production of your city by enabling the production autobutton. If you are on harder modes, it might be difficult because other civs start with an advantage. Prince or lower should be fine.

To be honest, it's not worth it.

You can still do all the same steps, but go for Holy Site instead. Select the right policies from Pantheon and government, and faith should accumulate fast enough for you to grab a prophet.

I'm also experiencing this. It continues to tell me that other civs built Stonehenge late into the game.

Remember that if you don't kill the alert icon, it will just stick around for quite a while. So you might think that you got notified about someone building Stonehenge again when it was just the original message that happened to stay there.

I second the opinion that Stonehenge isn't a very desirable wonder. If you want to excel at religion, you need a holy site anyway and Stonehenge just happens to block a tile for little benefit.

To get that early prophet, do a project at your first Holy Site after the Shrine is done and if the race gets tough, patronage could make your day.

Agreed, stonehenge just is not worth it. It is possible to get a prophet before stonehenge is built just using the holy site. Least with the holy site you can add other buildings and get more faith than stonehenge.

As for multiple alerts, are you using mods? Are you removing the first alert?

Unless you're China, Stonehenge is a gamble. It is unbuildable on Deity and I've seen it go as early as turn 20.

It is sometimes buildable on Emperor but you have to lucky.

There's a bug that causes wonder alerts to reappear across multiple turns sometimes.

If you want to excel at religion, play a civ that has a useful bonus. For instance, the Russians can place their holy district (lavra) before they have astrology, IIRC.

Nothing is wrong with the files. He got the Stonehenge notification once, never closed it. So when another wonder notification pops up It'll say (2x) with the Stonehenge notification being first and the other wonders behind it.

Yes, that became clear after I posted the first comment.

Actually, no. There's a slight truth to what he is saying. I always right-click close the notifications. I still get the same pop ups - it's especially fond of it when you defeat another Civilization to keep reminding you that you beat said civilization even if you right-click remove the notification each time (at some point you just ignore it xD).
