Colosseum Problem
The Colosseum vanished from the wonders section of the production menu. I built an Entertainment Complex and went to start on the Colosseum but it is not available, not greyed out, just not there. I loaded previous saves and found it is available on turn 171 and earlier, and gone from 172 on (standard speed, 171 is 1100 AD). I tried different things from turn 171 to see what would happen, but the Colosseum's availability always vanishes upon entering turn 172. This also happend with Stonehenge sometime quite earlier.

Is this a glitch? Can something be done?

If I had to guess I'd say someone completed the wonder on turn 172...no notice given?

No notice. But I only recently met the last civ, Rome, and the second from last civ, Brazil, some turns before that. Relations with both are not good and there is no visibility. I did not know that a wonder could be used only once. I never played any civs before and this is my first. I did not read this in the ? info.

Yeah, wonders can only be built once, by one player. Once it's built, no one else can build it. You should've gotten a little triangular notification in the bottom right corner when someone built it.

Someone else on a separate thread said that SOME wonders can only be used once, implying that others can be used by multiple civs. IS THISTRUE?

It does not show in the little triangular notification in the bottom right corner. But it does show three other wonders built by other civs which are also missing from my production menu.

There are no wonders that can be built by multiple civilizations in Civ6. In Civ5 there were National Wonders that could be built once by every Civ, but they're not in Civ6.

Ok cool thanks for clarifying. Wasnt sure if they were in this one or not.

Well, there is a lot of detail missing in the ? info. The Colloseum is a Classical wonder and I'm in the Renaissance era. With such an amount of elapsed time since it became available I would have known that some other civ would have been going for it. Thus I would have never spent all the time and resources setting things up for it. Or I would have started for it earlier.

Lack of knowledge of first time player. Spent some 10 turns setting up a place that would have helped my 3 cities. They would not have to worry about amenities for a long time.

QUESTION: Is there another source of amenity that will become available in some future era?

Trade and wonders - Each amenity resource only works once, so you can trade off any duplicates for resources you don't yet have. Every city can build an entertainment district, which gives you more "local" amenity points for that city only.

And wonders - Several lategame wonders gives you things like Jeans and music/movies that are amenity resources.

Estadio do Maracana in the Atomic Era gives +2 Amenities in all your cities, for example (must be built on flat ground next to an Entertainment district IIRC:

Jeans is, just like Toys, Cosmetics and Perfume, created by a Great Merchants, not by any wonder.
