I looked and I still have the 1 oil required to build these so i'm assuming that isn't the problem. From what you say i'm guessing that if I lost that 1 oil because of pillaging or lost that city I couldn't heal my tanks. Another thing i'd like to note about my damaged tanks...I purchased most my tanks with faith points after switching to Theology government. I even tried to heal them next to a holy site (like other religous units need to) thinking that might have something to do with it, but that didn't work either. Unless military units purchased with faith points just can't be healed I think it's a bug. Maybe the bug just has to do with me purchasing them with faith points and nothing else who knows.
I loaded the game again and could see that the oil at my city is there, but I couldn't find it on my list of strategic resources then I noticed that I had a Stepwell built on top of the oil. Before I assumed I had access to the oil just because it was allowing me to purchase tanks with faith, but apparently we can purchase anything we have the tech for even if we dont have the strategic resources we just can't heal them lol. Thanks to all who replied to this problem. I thought that game was screwed after I put over 900 turns into it. I'm glad I can continue it lol.
Oh thanks for that info. Seems like an oversight with Faith purchases. They will need to address that.
