undo district placement
Sorry for the salt, but I really think we should be able to change our mind about where we are building a district, as long as it is not yet completed.

I am all for owning my mistakes, but wouldn't it be enough to lose the resources I've already put into the "wrong" building site? One stupid mistake and my city is ♥♥♥♥ forever. Even if I catch it one sec after making the mistake. Noooooo that's not where I wanted that district.

Once you have completed it, yes, I agree, it would be wrong to be able to move it around. As long as it is being constructed, though, or even while zero resources have gone into it, why can't I cancel it? Even if it means losing the resources?

Now I have to start over again, and I liked this start so much.

there are two solutions for that, one direct and one "indirect" for future games (if you're up to it).

the direct "fix" - load the autosave of the turn right before you misplaced the district/wonder
the "indirect" option - there's a mod called "Removable Districts" that allows you to destroy a district, by "building" projects in that city (resources cleared before building the district won't get back).

edit - changed the name of the mod, had written a wrong one. sorry, if you read it before.

Unfortunately I consider both cheating, but thanks. I know I am weird, but I want to play without savewhoring or mods. But that's not your fault so I appreciate your suggestion.

EDIT: Can't believe they allowed "savewhoring"

I have same problem. I am about to build a Holy Site, I receached bronze working, and an iron deposit appears at the same spot. But I can't access the iron now, even that my Holy Site aren't finished yet...

You get every strategic resource that lies under a finished district or world wonder.

I have the same problem with units. Sometimes I'll hit the wrong choice and then can not delete it, but have to keep moving it to the bottom of the queue. Really irritates me.

You can't remove Iron without mods as it is a strategic resource.

The resource icon of all strategic resources is red. Makes it stick out form other resources. The symbol itself is an anvil, and the iron looks like dark colored rocks on the terrain. Also I believe it only ever spawns on hills. And you might not have any iron near by. Not all resources are available and evenly spread across the map. Its entirely possible to be without one or more strategic resources in or near your lands.

A lot of content creators are asking for an undo button, so it may be a feature they implement in future releases.
