Barracks and recon units?
As an experiment, I made two scouts. One in a city with a barracks (+25% exp for all melee and ranged land units built in city), and the other in a city with no barracks.

I had them both attack the same enemy (save/reload), and got 8 exp for both scouts.
I also have the double exp for scouts policy and the city state bonus that gives extra exp for initiating an attack, so I'm not sure if...

a) only the highest exp bonus aplies
b) scouts simply don't count as either melee or ranged land units (recon being a special case)
c) something else?

Anyone done any more testing on this? I should have an armory soon which is supposed to affet all land units, so I will be able to test that soon too...

Tested with scout from armory attacking a city (final attack to conquer).
Basic scout - 34 exp
Scout from armory - 36 exp.

So, there is a difference, but I guess exp bonuses must all be based on base exp and then added after each bonus is calculated or somethign like that since a 25% bonus only gave 2 exp instead of another 8.5 exp... Hardly seems worth it for scouts at least.

Yeah Scouts do not count as melee units, they are in the Recon class with the Ranger. You can see this pretty early as the Battle Cry promotion for melee units doesn't apply when smacking a scout.

Interresting to know that exp bonuses only apply to the base exp, thank you for your reseach on this.
