My Apostles can't fight!!!!!
Ok, I did not find a religion but I have been making apostles from Hiduism from the CHinese to try and fight off the Stupid India Apostles. Well, they can't attack the Indian apostles. I can give them vsaious talents and even spread Hinuim to try and fend off an obvious India push for religious victory.

Is there a reason for this. Just because I did not find a religion my Apostles are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

If you didn't found a Religion and you took out China who had Hinduism, you can't spread China's Religion for China is dead, the only way you are ever going to spread religion in this game is you need your own religion to spread and that's why your Apostles can't fight because they are from a dead Civ's Reglion that can't be spread after the Civ who had the religion orignially died.
It is possible to spread the religion of an eliminated civilization. I was playing a game a while ago in which I eliminated Spain after they founded a religion (and converted many of my cities to follow it). I was playing Kongo, and so I got a lot of apostles I didn't really need. As a buffer against religous victory by another player I converted my own cities to follow that religion, and then also converted Scythia to follow it.

To the OP, the only reason I know of that you would be unable to attack their religious units is if they are the same religion. Well, also make sure you are trying to attack with apostles...I don't think missionaries can initiate religious combat.

Just declare war and run all of their Apostles down with military units. No need to even bother with the religious combat.

Also check the religion of the units you are trying to fight. If I recall correctly a civ can have religious units of different religions if some of their cities were converted. So you won't be able to combat units of the same religion.

if you can't attack them, they probably belong to your religion. i've noticed that a few time, too. after converting an opponents city, they started buying religious units of MY religion since they had no way of building units of their original religion.

if that's what's happening in your game, it's of course working as intended.
