How do I configure the AI difficulty level in multiplayer
Hey all,

I've been playing Civ for many years now (started with Civ 3), and I never fully understood how to configure the difficulty of AI in multiplayer games.

In a multiplayer game, you can configure the difficulty for the human players and the AIs (so you can configure it individually for each player/AI in the game).

If I want to game to be played of Deity level, do I need to configure everyone’s level to Deity? (players and AI)? Do I need to configure only the players? only the AI?
What happens if I configure different difficulty levels? How does it affect players and AIs?

I've found some answers across the web, but never a full explanation on assigning difficulties to AI and players.

Cheers.

As far as I know it works like this:
Each level has certain bonuses for either humans or AI.
If you set a level for an AI, it will get the associated bonuses for that level.
If you set a lever for a Human, it will get the associated bonuses for that level, and have AI interact appropriately for that level.

So not only the AI difficulty is adjusted according to the level I choose for the players, it is also adjusted according to its own level?
And by bonuses to players I guess you mean also handicaps? Higher difficulty for players means less bonuses until it switches to handicaps. Which I guess is opposite for AI as they will probably get handicap if I chose a lower level for them
