There were no prophets to begin with. (I foresaw this. LOL)
I started in the Atomic era. It must be that.
Anyone know the cutoff era?
I started in the Atomic era, Stonehenge isn't available. And I did build a religious district.
i guess you should simply play a game starting in ancient or classic times if you want to win a religious victory. medieval might also still work. renaissance would be risky. if the game progresses to industrial too fast, the list might be empty even before the 5 potential GPs have been picked.
Try playing the game from ancient.. research religion, send your warrior out looking for a world wonder, will probably find at least one within 10 tiles build a holy center asap and when you get first gov stick the prophet card in it and you'll probably get the 2nd or 3rd religion start. After that.. you ideally need to keep ai civs alive and make all their cities your religion. Good luck with that tho. If you wipe any civs out and your religion isn't the highest you might actually loose. So only wipe civs who are in the majority religion that isn't yours.
This is my 3rd run. I took all the defaults in my 1st run so started from the ancient era. I used the civilopedia heavily but there is much missing from it. It never said there was a limited number of prophets and I missed them in the first run. It also never said that prophets are not available if starting from later eras.
@Dray: I almost had a prophet in my first run. I was only some 40 points away from the 4th available one but it just disappeared. Some other civ must have bought it. That was the last one. As I said above, the civilopedia doesn't cover everything. But I did figure out early on in the 1st run that I needed great prophets points to obtain a great prophet and a pantheon belief first. (My great mind powers!) I also found out, but was too late, that the stone henge wonder would give a prophet.
