Me? Little ol me? I'm an angel!
Does it matter?
CIVs always hate you no matter what, alliances do nothing. Who cares.
Dont even need friends for a cultural victory, so why bother getting upset that other CIVs hate you? And again, if they are anywhere close to you, they are going to hate you no matter what.
Better of going to war, stealing their settlers and builders, destroying that city they decided to build right outside your border than trying to make them happy, cus they only going to hate you anyway.
Yep... A game recently, I was war-dec'd by two friends (via a joint war) the moment our friendship agreements lapsed...
I smashed their armies with my navy (their units were completely devoid of escorts) and a turn after making peace, Gilgamesh offers me a friendship proposal...
The AI is as dumb, and as irrational, as it has ever been...
The thing is, Gilgamesh was allies with me during the whole time. Even when our alliance and friendship expired, he renewed them. So it was a surprise when he denounced me. Especially since his military strength is 218 and my civ is at 5,047. He only has 6 cities while my civ has 50. My civ can take 3 of his civs while severly harming two more in one turn. It's funny watching him huff and puff. Since he denounced my civ I think I'll take his cities too.
