How to convert the state's religion?
I founded a religion but then another was spread in my land and changed my capital's religion, because of this even when I train a missionary he will spread the new religion not the one I found and made as a State religion.
I need to find out how to either convert my state's religion or get my missionaries spread the one that I founded. Thanks

Relatively easy, but it's almost undoable with the current state.
You need start earlier. Make sure you have an apostle in the back to convert your main religion city back. Make sure you get inquisitors quicker and keep one around your main religion city.
And spread your own religion quick and fast.

Once you have lost your religion, there is almost nothing to do about that. Eventually your religion will re-surface, but that takes a long time.

Once you found a religion, the best option is not the obvious one, which would be send out missionaries to convert other cities. You need to spend a big chunk of time getting Apostles, and using them the most efficient ways possible to create a solid power base.

Here are some quick tips

1) try to get Holy districts in as many of your cities as possible before you found your religion. Creating a religion automatically spreads it to every city in the empire that has a Holy District. This effect will wipe out any other religions in those cities so it is a very efficient way to get a big chunk of your empire converted in one shot.

2) If you want Religious victory, or even if you just want strong religious defense, Mahabodi Temple is the best Wonder to get for yourself even if it is just to deny your competitors. Always plan ahead so your holy district is next to at least one forest so you can build Mahabodi if you choose.

3) Use your Apostles efficiently. If you get a Debater upgrade, keep him alive as long as possible, and keep him in your home turf. Use 2 of his charges to convert or boost nearby cities, but save the final one and use him as a Defender/Attacker. Theological Combat victories are FAR FAR more efficient than spreading religion through charges. If you get Apostles with more than 3 charges, use the extras, but when they have 3 left bring them home and add beliefs to your religion, or start an Inquisition.

4) Personally I almost never use Missionaries. Apostles and Inquisitors work far better.

5) As I said, combat victories are far more efficient ways to spread your religion. Try to pick off other religions missionaries and apostles even when they're just passing through your lands. Try to plan Holy Smackdowns in the center of a bunch of cities, so you can convert several at once.

Nice tips that I'll keep in mind. I think it is too late now to get my religion back since every Missionary, Apostlem or Inquisito I use are of the new spread religion. I didn't yet find a way to get the government's religion back.

Any religous units you make will be whatever religon is that cities religon. So in a game where you only have religon's that were spread to you, you can only produce miss's, apos, inq's of whichever religon is in the paticular city. So you could spread and remove religons to influence the other religous civ's goals. Also build the special buildings, such as cathedral.

The op did mention that "even when I train a missonary" implying he/she is unaware of the basic rules about production of religous units-just saying.

I try to never spend the last charge. I build a solid apostle army defense that slaughtersall incoming apostles/missionaries.
