If all goes well (and I guess that they have chances) tey will be getting the follow up contract.
It'd be nice to have all three though.
Is the first remake worth picking up?
I've never heard of Quelle von Naroth, but it looks pretty fun. Reminds me of the Gold Box games. I'd definitely play it if they remake it in English.
This is pretty obscure, and I don't know who has the rights to it (I hope it's not EA since it's an early Origin game), but I would love to see a remake of Knights of Legend. Even though they only ever made the first part of it and it was supposed to be expanded with add-ons.
Well, I suppose one could try to use a character editor to get the Shadows over Riva DOS starting party to match the stats of the endgame Star Trail remake or something... (until the Shadows over Riva remake arrives! :) )
@robomagon: Almost the same for you :). Remakes always have the original licence holder dictating what may and may not happen with their property. In our case, Attic was very cooperative and we had almost free hand in realizing our remake vision. Hard to say what EA might want for that ;).
@Yistaan: The savegames of ST are cleartext readable and of the "speaking" kind, so with only the slightest understanding of computers you can read (and edit ;)) any savegame. Writing a converter for Riva Original would also be possible, the savegame format is documented somewhere on the net. But so far, nothing premade exists :).
If everyone would wait for a sale of 50 or 75 percent off, how many sales would you need approximately for Shadows over Riva to be made?
Star Trail has a small time limit in Lowangen (if you lost the precious item Elsurion asked you to find), but you should be able to manage that - and there's an auto save feature, so you can try again.
Will buy the Austrian TBS(!) (Deluxe) nevertheless!
Edit:
PS. (a bit of?) optimization might better the sales... You'll reach to laptot users, probably a majority nowadays. (I have a ~5 years old gaming rig myself; still no reason to upgrade(was topnotch at its time))
