Yeah, they do have a lot of work - they cant go too far with the comedy even if it is the vital part of the series, but they can't make it too serious as well... Fable 1 is considered the best, 2 also has a bunch of fans, while 3 is considered the watered down experience...
I hope they dont go down the Fable 3 route - i LOVED the game when i played it years ago but now it doesn't stack up with the first two games.
True, they are neglecting the PC market completely, or if we get a port it would be the laziest thing ever with button prompts looking like 2010s Xbox buttons or whatever.
The majority of Fable fans are probably males, and they are now at least early, late 20s, even 30s, so a female character is a strange choice - Fable was in my opinion more of a wish fullfilment game, than this particular character's game. I noticed people reaaaaally don't like the new MC, but on the plus side the NPCs look really nice.
I do wonder why they keep neglecting the PC players, after Elden Ring and the RE remakes they really should learn their lesson already.
I don't think it will be a demanding game though, i hope.
I liked it when i played it for the first time, it is just not as good on mulitple playthroughs - considering they were rushed it was a pretty solid game, not a 10/10, but a 7/10 easily for me. I did dislike the era though, i am getting tired of all the "fantasy but early industrialism with flintlocks" games, they just don't work in my opinion.
Honestly, i would rather have a full Fable 1&2 remake in UE5 than Fable 4... the new Fable doesn't excite me that much, but, the settings seems nice? Very jolly medieval or something.
I noticed more and more devs are getting tired of "hard" fantasy medievalism, even Avowed has guns, flintlocks and rifles or whatever but the new Fable seems to be a "genuine" fantasy game so, we'll see i guess.
Not a lot of excitement so far... I do wonder will it be a console exclusive first and then ported to PC or what.
There will probably be a mod to change the face though, or hopefully we will get a simple character creator that can fix her up a little bit for people who really don't like her.
Fable had its own unique art style & lore.
The reboot seems to have completely forgotten about all of that & decided to go in a new direction.
Fable did have its own vibe but the question is did they want it or were they restricted by graphical capabilities of that era? We will never know i guess, since Lionhead shut down but they do need to innovate the series - i dont want them to end up like Bethesda, using an outdated engine, with mechanics straight out of 2010, with bad voice acting, animations, story etc. While i am not excited much for the new Fable i am excited for it more than i ever was for Starfield.
Maaaaaybe the direction might work... They should also show us the male character as well since in Fable you could always choose male or female MC. The graphics look solid, the time seems proper for the series, i just hope they get the vibe, it is a very jolly/ cheeky game with a lot of humor but not too much. They really have to hit it right.
The studio did make racing games before so that is a little bit concerning, kinda how Bloober team that made AA horror games is now remaking Silent Hill 2...
I would say give it a shot but it would be hypocritical of me since i had the same sense of disappointment for another game i was hyped for, Starfield... I actually built a brand new PC just for Starfield, talk about being silly..!
There's that really funny old meme from a manga about a Japanese player trying to explain to her friends why she plays Western games, and in one panel she says: "In Western games, the men look like women, and the women look like gorillas. But the gameplay is great!" or something like that, kek.
That's the new trend that will probably last until the moneybags start asking questions why they are losing so much money. I might look at it if the gameplay is fun, but she sure was hit with an ugly stick so much. Poor girl will have trouble not becoming a spinster, tsk tsk...
Girls, wash your face so you dont become all dusty and grimy and... whatever happened to that poor girl. Buy a face cream~~~
How did they even get the IP i wonder? They made racing games before, what CEO, or moneybags guy made the jump from racing games to fantasy? Not saying they are less skilled but it is quite the leap in genres...
Nah Mr. Peter was too ambitious for his own good and ruined the IP all on his own. While microsoft didn't help and itsn't innocent the CEO of lionhead killed his own franchise hiself. Dude has set the bar since the first game way too high and never delivered what was promised. Sure the first game was a masterpiece even with all things considered. The 2 and 3 were awful while 2 being alright but went in so many differnt directions it all just fell into mediocracy just being okay. Peter has even went on to accept he killed the IP and countless documentaries, discussions, fans have talked about this. In the end there is nobody to blame but him.
