Knothole Glade - Vendor / Villager Missing Glitch
When you take the White Balverine quest, a random villager in Knothole Glade is chosen to be killed off permanently. FOREVER!! If its a random villager in a shared house, then there's no real problem as you can still buy all the houses and make use of the shops, but if a Vendor is chosen to be killed... Well you can see the problem.

The only workaround I was able to use in Fable: TLC was to repeatedly load the game from before the quest to try and get a random villager in a shared house to die, rather than a vendor or single person. This time around and after many attempts, it seems only the item vendor croaks it.

Has anyone got any idea on how the random person is chosen? Be it time of day the quest is taken or otherwise? I'm happy to use a workaround but repeating the same quest over and over is getting a little tedious...

To be honest, I'm really suprised it wasn't addressed by Lionhead during the HD remaster, this bug has been around for a decade and must be fixable somehow.

Surely it would be possible for them to patch it so that either:

a) Nobody dies "randomly" at the start of the quest.
b) A villager in a shared house is always chosen to die, leaving the house to be able to be bought later.
c) The villager is respawned after the quest.

Thoughts anyone? Perhaps if enough of us petition them, Lionhead might do something about it after 10 years :)

This sounds strange indeed, but surely you can buy the items you need from another vendor?
Ideally everything would be addressed, but I think petitions are probably best reserved for the big things, like FINALLY bringing fable II and III to PC. Not individual bugs...

Yeh if the item vendor missing, it's not game breaking - but if it's the tattoist or the blacksmith then it can cause a problem. I just feel that if the game is getting bug fixes still, why can't this one be addressed? I agree that bringing Fable 2 and 3 to the PC is very important, but that would require a much larger endeavor than fixing 1 bug in a game that is already published.

Makes the game still feel unfinished to me, having to repeat a single quest potententially forever, - just to be able to get the sense of completeness throughout the game.

I've repeated it so many times now that I can't be bothered to play any more and if it's a sign of things to come with future PC releases, I prob wont be buying Fable 2 + 3 that were also riddled with annoying bugs.

The really "funny" thing about this bug is that it, at least for me, only happens on the PC versions (Got all three installments of the game X-Box, Regular-PC and now Aniversity-PC). Back in the day when I played on the X-BOX this one never happend to me. Don´t know how often I played the game through back then but it was at least half a dozend times. The "missing" NPC never was one of the shopkeepers. TLC 2 playthroughs and twice it was the the tattoist. Repeating the mission never helped me. First playthrough on Aniversity and "suprise" the tattoist is still the missing one. I would love to see Fable II on PC but till then I would be more than happy to see this damm bug eredicated. I mean, seriously, this game is out for 10 years, not sure how long exactly for the pc. That´s plenty of time to fix the problem.

Timothius above already listed 3 ways (A and C beeing the easier ways to fix, with C as a patch beeing my favourite seeing as It would help even after the bug occoured).
Here´s an option D from me.
D: Sell the Tattos at a different tattoist (the only other stationary one lives in Snowspire) or at least give the random Traders access to all Tattos. You already did this for the Apollo Set (Darkwood Trades according to other posts I read at the lionhead forum) so it´s not like you don´t know how to do it.

Yeah man, at least it would solve the problem, but for me personally, I like to have a "complete" game where I can buy all the properties as it should be. Don't like having to repeat over and over just to correct an oversight that could've been easily fixed in the remaster.

Haven't played the game since I made this post. I think I logged in once, said "Meh" out loud, closed Fable and played Skyrim.

At least we can look forward to one day get a remastered Fable III (Hopefully 100% Single Player).
The Game for Windows Live fu**up made sure of that.

I played through that game twice on Xbox 360, both times I had all properties, items and collectables. Both times it crashed during autosave and my game corrupted. Lionhead seem to make the MOST beatiful games, but they are often bug-ridden and frustrating :/

Is there any fix for this issue in Anniversary edition today ?
