Experiencing crashes/issues? Read here!

Hey everyone,

We know some of you are still experiencing game crashes. To help us investigate, please use the template below to report the crashes to us. To make sure the thread remains helpful, please stick to the reporting template and avoid any other discussion.

TROUBLESHOOTING

First though, try the following steps to see if you're able to fix the issue:

1) May sound obvious, but check out the Steam Support pages to see if there's an easy fix.

2) If you've edited your ini files, revert them back to default. To do so:

- Delete everything in your config file (\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fable Anniversary\WellingtonGame\Config)
- Go to your Steam library, right click Fable Anniversary and select 'Properties'. Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache...'
- This will re-download the files

3) Verify your game cache -
- Go to your Steam library, right click Fable Anniversary and select 'Properties'. Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache...'


If having tried the above you're still having crashes, please report your crash with the following template:

CRASH REPORT TEMPLATE

1) Give us steps to reproduce the crash and tell us if you were able to reproduce the issue yourself (please give us as much information as possible - i.e., what were you doing in-game when the crash happened? Give clear/simple steps)
2) Zip and upload the following information to a file transfer service (we'd recommend Onedrive[onedrive.live.com]):
- Your save files (copy the entire Fable HD folder: Documents\my games\FableHD\Saves
- Your mdmp files (C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Fable Anniversary\Binaries\Win32)
- Your dxdiag file (click here[windows.microsoft.com] for info on how to run a dxdiag)
3) Include a link to the above files in your report for us to access.

Do anyone also have issues with save games when they load it back? For example there were multiple times when I've load my save game and it rolled back my progress but the quests were already finished, so basically I was unable to continue to story.

im expeiriencing random crashes, about 4 in the last three hours and i cant really figure out why it happens

I had just purchased the game and I am unable to play it. As I press play, the game starts but is stuck on a black screen. A windows dialoge box appears with no text with an "Ok" button.

What the hell am I doing wrong!?? Ive tryied to launch the game, but it keeps giving me update required, I update, and instantly get the unable to read error. Im so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fed up with this stupid thing. Yes, Ive verifiyed everything, and re-done the steam config, and almost about everything...

i did every thing mentioned and i cant even start the game i double click it it says running in library then syncing for maybe half a second and then never opens

Something is wrong with my game. When I try to start a new game, instead of a cutscene it gives me this view of the town with moving clouds and trees, and a brick cottage in the distance along a dirt road. There's this white kind of crosshairs icon right in the middle of my screen. My controller won't respond when I push any of the buttons, yet it worked fine when I was in the book looking at settings and all that. I can't seem to find any fix for this anywhere. It seemed to have installed fine so I don't know why this is happening. Help!

Whenever i try to start the game i get a window that pops up saying "Fable anniversary.exe has stopped working" any help?

Soo i have some trouble with the bow, i cant seem to make him shoot at all sometimes, i have even tried diffrent mouses but it doesnt seem to work, i need to make multipel clicks just to shoot one lousy arrow that deals nada. what should i do i have tried reinstall it and all :/

Can someone help me after adjuting the graphic settings after first entering the game and then restarting the game does not run at all my rig is running a 970 with i5 6600k

Purchased today (Dec 24th, 2015), downloaded, and when I triy to play for the first time I get a DirectX install pop-up window. I click YES, then something happens (who knows what), and then nothing. This will happen repeatedly. The game never actually plays. Lots of people have commented on the same problem.

My game crash when I come back to the heroes guild after the first mission. After the crash, i can´t initiate again the game until I turn off and on the computer because it says Steam is playing the game. Closing and reopening Steam doesn´t work, I have to reinitiate the computer.

I tried what you said at the beginning of this post, but the problem continues.

Hey guys! So, I tried a ton of things involved in getting to work, I was having an issue where I would start it (from file location, steam page, shortcut, everything) And it would say "running" but nothing would load. turns out, I just had to run in compatibility mode for windows 8 (I have windows 10).

TLDR
If you are using windows 10 and having issues starting, run in compatibility mode for windows 8.

When i start Fable i hear music and everything,but i can't see anything but black screen.So how do i fix this?

Having trouble starting the game it says that it isrunning in steam and it is running in my task manager but the game never starts. However, i am able to run other games on steam while this one is running.

i was playing fine up till archons foley and then my game crashed before i entered the area. ever since i cannot load past the book at the main menu, just says the program stopped working.
