Experiencing crashes/issues? Read here!
Hey everyone,

We know some of you are still experiencing game crashes. To help us investigate, please use the template below to report the crashes to us. To make sure the thread remains helpful, please stick to the reporting template and avoid any other discussion.

TROUBLESHOOTING

First though, try the following steps to see if you're able to fix the issue:

1) May sound obvious, but check out the Steam Support pages to see if there's an easy fix.

2) If you've edited your ini files, revert them back to default. To do so:

- Delete everything in your config file (\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fable Anniversary\WellingtonGame\Config)
- Go to your Steam library, right click Fable Anniversary and select 'Properties'. Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache...'
- This will re-download the files

3) Verify your game cache -
- Go to your Steam library, right click Fable Anniversary and select 'Properties'. Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache...'


If having tried the above you're still having crashes, please report your crash with the following template:

CRASH REPORT TEMPLATE

1) Give us steps to reproduce the crash and tell us if you were able to reproduce the issue yourself (please give us as much information as possible - i.e., what were you doing in-game when the crash happened? Give clear/simple steps)
2) Zip and upload the following information to a file transfer service (we'd recommend Onedrive[onedrive.live.com]):
- Your save files (copy the entire Fable HD folder: Documents\my games\FableHD\Saves
- Your mdmp files (C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Fable Anniversary\Binaries\Win32)
- Your dxdiag file (click here[windows.microsoft.com] for info on how to run a dxdiag)
3) Include a link to the above files in your report for us to access.

I have nearly the same problem. In my case the game doesn't freeze but exits to windows.
We're hoping we've got a fix for this in the next beta that goes up.

I use controller (MS Xbox 360 pad) and everytime when i try go to the stealth mode, game just crash. This is strange because it only happens when i use traditional control scheme for controller. On Fable 2/3 inspired, stealth working fine :/
Any way to fix this? I prefer this traditional control scheme.

Cannot "USE" anything, (Tab seems unbound)

I first noticed this after i had to restart the game after finishing the heroes guild apprenticeship.
I couldnt pick any experience choices cause the tab kept scrolling to the right, BUT it wasnt my keyboard that was causing this. So after checking the keyboard and pressing every button known to man, I Finally restarted the game. Which lead to me being able to pick a power to upgrade without being pushed to the right all the time. But a new problem had occured.

I couldnt pick up the Bee quest, nor go to shop, not anything that involves pressing TAB, and the circle on the bottomright thats supposed to say "TAB" is also empty. What do?


EDIT: Had deleted the config files and tried to verify, still nothing, I have also reinstalled the game completely since this happened but that didnt help either.

From the crash it looks like your def files are corrupt. Can you try verifying your cache please?

Yes, you can remap most of the actions. Set your control scheme back to Keyboard & Mouse, and then when in-game go to the Pause Menu (Esc), then Options, then Keyboard Options.

This could have been a knock-on from recent changes to the mapping options, we've been working to make more actions mappable.

Hmm this could have been something to do with recent changes to save files (though I would have expected it to be more widespread). At least you've got it working now! :)

So i tried turning v-sync off and then the resolution changed and the screen become super blurry. now when i try to get back on the game, it still does the same thing but it won't even let me go into the game menu now.

Hey there Missdarkrose.
I tried loading your saves but didn't have any issues loading the game. I also couldn't look at the dxdiag, seems the only thing in the folder was a copy of the .exe? You need to save out the info from dxdiag as a .txt file. To do this:
1. Open a Command Prompt (if Win8 you can just press Wndows key, type cmd, then hit enter)
2. Type dxdiag in the Command Prompt and hit enter
3. Once the DirectX Diagnostic Tool has loaded up, click the 'Save All Information' button at the bottom
4. Save out the info

One thing you could try to see if it fixes the game - what happens if you remove the Saves file from the FableHD folder (keep them somewhere safe) and then start the game? I'm interested to see what happens with no saves in there at all, basically.

Did you have Steam Cloud sync turned on? This would copy your files back down after they were removed. Sorry should have mentioned that before, need to turn it off to remove all saves.

Just noticed from your dxdiag that your display device is Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000. That's an unsupported integrated chipset (below min spec). Do you have any other display devices or just the HD 3000?

u mean the steam cloud in properties? yeah it was already turned off but when i removed the saves from folder, another folder would pop up but with nothing in them. not sure if that matters. hopefully this issue gets solved soon, really want to play fable again :D
edit: I only have hd graphics 3000. the game was working fine tho, a little laggy, but fine before i tried turning v-sync off
