I'm not a texture artist either. I like modding but I have very basic knowledge in regards to that area. I know how to install mods and how to modify small-scale... but that's it.
Anyway: fair point, console limitations (costing more money to rework PC version specifically too). But that applies to most games. I do remember an earlier dev stating they doubled the amount of on-screen stuff on the screen at any given time to take advantage of even the lowest PC hardware which is generally better than a 360 in some ways.
Don't quote me on that.
Modders are usually better than developers sadly. Modders used to become developers, now developers are bands of people with generally little experience and only serving corporate interests. I don't have to list any names, do I?

Page 1, scroll down and there's a post about Lionhead reimporting textures higher-quality and doubling the amount of objects on-screen. The rest of the comment isn't as relevant.
Well I own the 360 version and the textures are slightly better. The comparison is more noticeable when you compare original to Anniversary but the PC textures aren't as significant as some were expecting. Can't blame either party for that.
I think there's a big concern in redoing textures in that they may not fit in the game any longer, stand out or just look plain weird.
Well UE3 is very moddable and well-known to modders, even without the free modding DLC, and all the game has a very open-file format. It'll just take a while for modders to delve in and know everything they need to know to get started.
I never had an issue with the blur or the controls (I have a 360 controller), but the idea of asking for $25 more when it's basically an updated menu, prettier faces and slightly better shaders, with bump maps and lightmaps is - to me at least - ludicrous.
10 year old game. Metro Last Light is barely a year old yet they're asking $30.
And most remasters (Tomb Raider, The Last of Us) are $60 and even closer to the release date of the original.
Remasters are always hard to recommend but was Anniversary a good remaster? I thought it was. Control issues aside, of course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a great way to replay the game that I loved when I was young. Essentially a nostalgia trip, yes, but $30 isn't too much considering all the changes in the port.
Also the menu system is horredous, who thought no mouse support was a great idea? And binding some of menu controls to buttons some keyboards don't have is the real kicker here.
It's a nice gesture that the devs are fixing the problems this game has but when you release a half finished product expect to get reviews to reflect that. Look at battlefield 4.
Truth ^ The team appreciates the support.
No worries and thank you for your comment :)
Its a joke I was just being sarcastic. I always ask people if thier Ted. I'm 20 so I grew up with Fable ......I don't hate Anniversary I just dont love it like TLC , and I was one of the last moders for Fable TLC so now all my mods can not be used in this new game. I will probably Mod Anniversary sense in theory more compex mods should now be a posibility :D
If Fable TLC never existed Than Fable Anniversary would be the greatest RPG ever, in my opinion
Haha I knew it was a joke but maybe that wasn't conveyed well in my post.
Anyway, we'll have to wait and be patient on Anniversary. The devs have issued 2 patches and for me, it was a great way to replay a great game. Remasters are always hard to recommend due to the price and superficial changes (most of the time) but I was pretty impressed with the improvements in Anniversary honestly. Like I said: hopefully this release gets better. Mouse support is all that's needed to trump TLC for me.
there is no such thing called "2014 texture", and many people lack of knowledge seem to think better resolution = better texture. that's not true
I'm glad this "2014 texture standard" doesn't exist because it's bollock. if it was exist, it would mean games like Dishonored and Torchlight 2 have the worst texture ever.
there is a thing called visual style, Fable has the cartoonish style graphic so obviously you can't expect the texture to be realistic. even if it's high-res, there won't be any noticeable other than worse performance. and the PC version has better texture than console anyway.
a little off-topic: most Skyrim texture modders are a joke, you can't compare a guy who have freetime to draw some high-res texture to a guy who has been educated in texturing and basicly textured the whole game. not to mention most of texture mods are unoptimised and ruining the game's visual style.
of course there are some great texture modders, I have great respect for Cabal because he understand the art vision of Bethesda and try to retexture most armors with great quality without bullcrap resolution.
