There is however one issue people have mentioned concerning one button being used for numerous functions while in combat. FWIW.
Thanks for the reply.
Do you know exactly what they are referring to with regards to the one buttom/multi function issue? I mean, lots of games use the same button for multiple things i.e. short press x for fast attack/long press x for strong attack.
There's also a huge issue some random people seem to be dealing with and it's the stuttering. It's the kind of stuttering where the entire system locks up, similar to what happens prior to a BSOD. It seems to not be hardware related as some beastly rigs are having these issues too.
Coming from a big fan of the series I'm incredibly disappointed and wouldn't recommend the game to anyone in it's current state as it is unplayable for me. Who knows, perhaps they will fix the issues. I do however recommend watching Totalbiscuit's video on this game, regardless of your opinion of him he has some solid information on this port.
For starters when you're trying to kick a chicken you might take out your sword instead, you can still kick the chicken but it's not good waving your sword around in public. The original required you to press either the left or right button to access your bow or sword, and then you could attack by pressing X for either option you chose. Magic was accessed by holding down the right trigger.
The magic system is reduced to just 1 magic attack at any given time when you're using the Fable 2/3 scheme. To swich to another spell you press the right trigger and press the magic button.
The original Fable scheme allows the user to press and hold the right trigger and acess 3 magic attacks at any given time and pressing Y while holding right trigger allows you to switch to another 3 magic attacks.
Regardless you'll find that either option works and rather or not you choose one or the other comes down to personal preference. They added the Fable 2/3 scheme for ♥♥♥♥♥ n' giggles, you could try out either option and see what you like most.
My system is win7 pro 64bit
What Beans! said.
A mouse and keyboard is supported, just menu navigation is awkward with the keys you have to use and lack of mouse cursor involved.
I tend to use a wired 360 controller for these type of games as I'm more comfortable with it. I may just give it a go as GMG are doing a discount code that takes the price down to about £21. Hmm, I'll probably think it over a bit more.
