Why isn't Fable 2 out on PC?

The game is awesome. I bought the deluxe edition on 360. Really wish they added it to stream since it's my favorite fable game. Anyone know why they never added it to PC?

Your guess is as good as mine, my friend. The only reason why it was not on PC is because Microsoft needed an exclusive title for the 360. LionHead Studios is a subsidiary of Microsoft and own the Fable 2 license, as a result, they either did not allow LionHead to or did not fund a PC port because that would have meant less console sales in the eyes of Microsoft. Exclusives are dumb, and it's a fallacy to suggest a game being on multiple systems would result in decreased sales of one system over another, but that's besides the point.

Considering Microsoft have stated that they are going to focus more on PC (Windows 10) gaming, the only reason why Fable 2 is not on PC now is because it costs money to port, and Microsoft/LionHead are ignorant to the demand and thus think they they will be working at a loss.

Xbox Exclusive. Fable 3 is no longer available on PC due to running out of keys from Games For Windows Live. They said they would fix it........several years later......
But you do get the new Fable free to play going to be developing for the next 10 years and no other games or Fables on PC and Xbox One coming soon! :D :D :D :D
You can play Fable 2 (all DLC) and Fable 3 (all DLC) on Xbox One through Backwards Compatibility. Just get a disc version or digital. That's your only option. Xbox One or Xbox 360. No PC. We were lucky to even get Fable Anniversary.

Honestly if the Fable Series come on PC(Like all of them and the future ones) I am pretty sure alot of people will be happy.
Way too many people in the world want Fable 2 on PC.

You're better off confirming it will never be in development than repeating that same line for the next 10 years. As it is right now, there is zero reason for Lionhead to ever port Fable II, the profit would be low and the effort would be much too high.

Do you still have the source files of Fable II stored somewhere? Because doing a basic port to pc now would be a disaster, the quality of the textures and the state of some lingering bugs have not let the game age well, visually and functionally. Would you move it over to the Fable III iteration of the engine? Because as bad as the pc port was the engine it was running on had features that brought a noticeable amount of visual improvement to the game, such as changes to how lighting is rendered in open interiors. These are just a few things to keep in mind, and the cost and effort behind these would simply not be worth it because you left it for too long, allowing interest to stagnate to only the fans of the franchise, which includes me.

You guys didn't even bother putting Fable III back up on steam after GFWL was shut down, whether microsoft told you to wait until they can make another blockbuster steam alternative or they wanted you to "focus on newer projects" is irrelevant compared to the fact that it's simply not there. Clearly, eliminating further sales of the game has not hurt you financially.

It has almost been 8 years since the game came out on the xbox360, if you actually think microsoft would be willing to allow you to waste their resources on anything outside of a new entry, then you simply need to look at the reaction Fable Anniversary garnered amongst people who were only seeing how the port went. And if that doesn't do anything for you, look at the state of the modding community.

Mate, he doesn't work directly for Microsoft or Lionhead Studios. He is a voluntary moderator who moderates this game's discussion forums/posts. Idk why you address him as if he makes the game and releases it directly, chill.

honestly it does. i heard there's a way to get a pc key for fable 3 tho just look it up. or ways to download fable 3 for pc free (which also work but are effort)

I've heard of that too but tbh 3 just wasn't near as good as 2 and doesnt feel likes it's worth the effort :/
