Why is Fable 1 on steam, but not 2&3?

I want to replay the series.

I started with Fable 2 and therefore it is my favorite. Fable 3 was okay, and I'd like to replay it as well.

While I'm asking questions, I remember a rumor of Fable 4 being made, despite Lionhead shutting down. I'm not talking about FH FtJ or FF. Like I heard an actual Fable 4 was being made. Was there any truth to this ray of hope?

I don't remember if Fable 2 ever was. Fable 3 used to be on Steam a long time ago, but that was eventually delisted. I think that was in 2013, but that's a rough guesstimate when that actually happened.

There was a teaser Trailer for Fable 4 three or four years ago. But nothing new has been quietly dropped since then. It will definitley come. But it may be a while before we hear anything concrete. Persoally, I`m hoping for more Infos on this at this years E3 :)

Fable 2 was never portet to pc and fable 3 used games for windows live for activation + dlc which was abandoned years ago by microsoft.
haven't tried to run 3 in a long time but other games using gfwl that need online activation do not work anymore

Sounds like the company was doomed from the start. Sad really. Was really fun and witty and imaginative

2 was never ported here, but it is still available on Microsoft's store. I have heard you can get 2 running on PC via their service, but personally haven't done it.

The same is said of 3, except once upon a time 3 was actually available on Steam and you can still play it here via Amazon codes. I actually did just that.

As for 4, it is indeed being made. The teaser was nothing, honestly. There were a few rumors as to what the scope/plot would be, but I am not sure that I believe them. We also here random development things every now and then (such as staff changes). What we do know is that it is the devs are Playground Games (aka Forza Horizon devs) and they are last reported to be using the same engine as Forza Motorsport.

Everything else is more speculation, but it is probably still quite a few years out.

One thing you can do is if you live in a country supported by gamepass you can play Fable 2 and 3 via cloud service with Xbox Game pass Ultimate on PC.

Really wish they would bring fable 2 to steam and relist fable 3. Played a ton of fable around the early years when it first came out. Was a fun series.
