HELP - Game starts up, shows main screen, then crashes

Hello,

Would anyone be able to help me with running this game? Everytime I click play, the game loads, all the dev screens play, then I end up at the main screen without any options on it. There is music and artwork and as soon as I click or press enter to start the game it goes white and crashes.

This is my 3rd reinstall. The last time I played the game I believe it was on my old laptop which was significantly worse than my current one.

- I have updated all my drivers
- I have verified the game files
- I have disabled the steam overlay for this game and all others
- I started it in compatibility modes for other windows versions
- I ran it as administrator
- Did several reinstalls
- Switched to windowed mode

I can't see anything anywhere about errors, or logs even. It just crashes.

Please help, as I am struggling to see why it simply will not play. I have the same issue with some other games too.

I have the same problem so I just want to follow this in case you get a response. Hope you don't mind! My game was fine for about 2 days then it started crashing every so often and now it just won't run at all because of the same issue you have.

Hi there, the card in my Laptop is a GTX 1650 4GB. Hardly have any issues with any other games with the card.

So I May have figured out how to fix this and the reason why this is happening. Idk if your issue is the same as mine but.... It seems to have had an issue with my save file which was I assume corrupt? This is because following one of the other posts which talked about changing my registry as Fable Anniversary seems to be very particular as to how the path is written I changed the game path in the registry to D/ and it seems to have worked but every time I deleted it from the save folder the game would open without any issues but then when I tried to put it back in there to restore my character I got the crash again. I'm no IT guru or anything but to me it seems like a save file issue lol.

It seems the crash i was having and the crash you are having have the same fixes as all the threads i pulled up for mine had the same advice. Mine was crashing every time i used a spell. The only fix i don't see up there is disabling FXAA from nvidia control panel for fable. So anyway try that. Then set the game for compatibility for windows 8. Then restart your pc and try running in big picture mode. I have no idea why, but that works about 2/3 times for me. I have to try to use the spell every time i start playing to see. If it crashes, I restart my pc until it works. But it does work. I have no idea why. Playing right now and it worked after 2 restarts. I have no issue with any other games. It's probably a long shot but i hope it helps you.

I know this is an old post, but I'm replying for any who might run into this problem as well. I had the same issue. The fix I found was to disable Cloud saves in the steam game properties, then went and found the save games folder(Located at Documents>My Games>Fable HD>Saves) and had to delete the whole folder. Game loaded just fine after that. Hope this helps.
