True but i liked Guildwars 1 more for its dungeons and ways to play it .. and the way you could match skills and classes .. i dislike Gw2 on that part .. because i cannot build my warrior/monk that i loved to tank with in guildwars and the social element where you where hooked up in groups is not there neither, i had hard time finding anyone to group up with !
I love Fable for its story rich elements too .. if that game was made mmo ? hmmm that could be worth trying aswell .. but the graphics and sounds need to be the same !
Everquest's world and associated lore are massive. Not only is it massive, but if you are willing to explore and investigate, you discover all kinds of hidden lore and story. It's nothing short of amazing. It started around 1999 and it's still going.
About the only downside is that it's something of an anachronism these days because many are snobs about the graphics or they can't handle the difficulty curve or both. It's well worth the time if you are looking for a true and proper mmo.
Guild Wars 2 does a pretty good job with their story as well. I also like how they handle events and content. Wish it was possible to use a controller just like Final Fantasy, though. If it's not Everquest, I can't be bothered to sit at a desk for hours. I'd rather kick back in the bed.
If you prefer something casual that has an expansive story/lore, then try out Elder Scrolls Online. The base game, Morrowind, Summerset and DLC are very good. The newer content is pretty...meh.
Fable is its own thing and I'm happy to have it, but I probably wouldn't care for it as an MMO.
This world has enough crappy MMOs.
