The faces...
Is there anyone else that loved the "comic-style" graphics of Fable 1 and the bright environment? I watched a comparison with the Xbox 360 version and wanted to ask: What the hell did you do with some of the faces?

It doesn't seem to get better with the next age step. While I also don't like Whisper and think the original Whisper had a darker skin tone, atleast she looks like a human in some way.

I could accept that the graphical improvements come with a slight change of style in every aspect, but those examples are just horrible, sorry. There are many other characters that resemble the original faces a lot better.

Has this been changed in the PC version to match the original faces more closely? To me they look like the faces of the so called "troll dolls", if anyone remembers them. Here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2220/2392237019_01cecd96f8.jpg

I don't think you really need those gigantic eye circles or whatever they are to look "next gen" or something.

It's pretty much the same as the 360 Version. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they keep making the game better and better before the release. I know for sure that the textures are already a greater quality.
It's more a problem with the face models I have. I have played the original game and a person like me would probably play the game to go back one more time and maybe also get a fresh view on everything. And the faces of the people are just something that are of the utmost importance to get "that feeling" and without them, it seems like the characters are completely different and then you could easily just create another Fable game, instead of a remake...

I really want to appreciate that this is more than "better textures", but if this comes with such drastic changes, the artists should pay more attention to details as important as character faces and properly re-do them if they really have to.

Dude wtf is that ♥♥♥♥??? Oh man the messed up.... W/e this is also for PC. Can you say " Mod this right the ♥♥♥♥ out". Original faces gave the game a certain feel to it... I'd hate to see them get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

I can't really see how this would be the same person as in the original in any way. And even if we had new characters, then the little child in the remake wouldn't fit the teenager in there. In the original, you could cleary see that this was the same boy growing up, certain facial structures were just there and transformed, but now it is really weird. It's not only different in a comparison with the two games, but even inside the remake somehow...

The teenager in the remake is imo better. The small child is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful though, it's like he was beat with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ street lamp, and then his face was lit on fire.

I don't mind that they made them extra doofy. It adds to the humor of the game imo.
Fable 1 had it's funny moments and features, but I think the game itself or atleast the main story was also pretty serious and the background story very sad.

BTW: This was also the kind of perfect mix between funny and serious moments that I missed when I played Fable 3. The balance seemed to shift towards being only "funny" somehow. I read another thing on Youtube:

I know what happens here ... They want to make Fable a less violent game, they took blood and deaths of the characters are more pious. The essence of Fable was the blood, poignant deaths and great history, now Fable II, III, Journey and IV, appear stories for children five years."

I remember you could decapitate in the original one with some moves, e.g. doing a headshot with a fully-drawn bow against bandits. Did they remove this, too?

Apparently many of them mutated from being caucasian to be mexicans. I hope Lionhead improves it on this PC version because it looks kinda awkward.

I would rather wait for the PC version before taking conclusions basing myself on the X360 version since Lionhead has been working on improving many aspects of the game. Now Fable was a very serious (and funny sometimes) game not suited for children. I mean, you don't usually have sex and sacrifice people in kids games (Even if it is not shown it is very suggesting), removing blood and decapitations would't make sense on a Mature game at least the engine is not capable of doing it.

PS: The steam store does mention Blood & Gore.

In the original game, charecters looked comical and everything was bright - you had a feeling that you are in a fairy tale, in a fable. I wish they've kept that style.

I'd noticed this too & whilst I appreciate it's probably not gonna bother most, as far as I'm concerned it sucks the life/personality/charm (whatever.. you know what I mean) from the characters.
Perhaps the XB360 screens aren't representaive (optimistic by nature) but regardless I guess we'll know soon enough & who knows, even if what we are seing here is what we're gonna get, mods may still be able to save the day.

That's exactly one of the points for me!

...and then play football with it. Kicking chickens? Rather kick heads down the road.

I think I can't remember that, but see here:
