Question about the ending

Who is the voice that tells you to cast the mask away? For years, I always thought that it was Scythe, but I have recently realized that the voice does not sound like Scythe at all. In fact, the voice doesn't sound like any other male character we know. Is it suppose to be some sort of inner voice INSIDE the mask itself?

It’s Jack of Blades. The hero and the dragon you slew were just puppets. The mask itself is Jack. If you choose to wear it, you become another puppet.

Check out the lore on google or something. There’s lore that goes into the old kingdom also having a special mask that was the Queen and another that was the King. Jack killed them both, I believe.

He didn’t. There’s two people speaking to you. I haven’t played in ages, but that second voice is probably Scythe or something.

Well, that's the thing - the voice that tells you to cast the mask away does NOT sound like Scythe at all. Which goes back to my original question - whose voice urged the Hero to destroy the mask?

Yup, pretty cut and dry. Don’t see why there’s any confusion here. He even laughs at you for being foolish enough to put it on. You’re literally one step away from actually killing him, and choosing to put on the mask effectively “kills” your character by replacing any free will you had with Jack’s control over you.

Edit: like I said, man, haven’t played in ages. It’s probably Scythe who warns you. I doubt you’ll get a better answer than that.

The wiki suggests that there is some cut content from the original game. But in Fable: TLC there would be a phrase from Jack saying: "you should have listened to Scythe, little hero". So even if the voices don't match, it is supposed to be Scythe, which makes sense given that there is the theory that he is William Black (aka the Archon) who defeated the court. The trivia that I've said can be found on the wiki regarding Jack of Blades. Hope this answers the question, because I was having the same XD

I also haven't played in ages, but to me the voice sounds like the guild headmaster, similar to his telepathic announcements: "Hero, you have a pending quest".
