There was no way to get it for free or anything and as to buying it now there isn't much reason to, the only upgrade is graphics, that's it.
When I switched over to PC I noticed I had received a free copy of Red Faction Guerilla Remarstered and that was really awesome. I have had a few games similar over the years and was hoping Fable might also be one.
I hope they would remaster Fable II some time. That would be awesome. Fable 3... not so much. :P
Could care less about a remaster of two and would just rather have it on PC, it was the only one not put on PC. Even three was at one point.
First time I played three I had a glitch halfway through where I couldn't leave the boardgame world and had to restart the whole game.
Not quite sure why it was removed, I heard that Microsoft actually ran out of keys for the game but I don't know. It required GFWL which as I am aware was pretty buggy. You can still buy it on Amazon and download a file that removes the need for GFWL.
I have played through 3 only once, and have no real desire to do so again, definitely the weakest in the series. I think 2 is probably the best one, though the original/TLC has some good moments.
I completed the whole game without being downed and got the achievement for it; the thing is it was not hard to do. Admittedly it was a hilarious trophy though. The caption says something like, "Congratulations, you went through the entire game without getting knocked out... well, there was this one time in the desert..."
As for the ending, I owned the entirety of the world and had saved up gold mines and the same thing happened to me that happened to Zero Punctuation; It skipped a ton of days to day 1 with no opportunity to use my gold so I was ripped off the ending I wanted/worked for lol
Fable II was fantastic. Fable 1 is basically as good but Fable II improved on the game formula. It was such an enjoyable game with a lot of content.
I was sad to see Fable implode on itself after Fable 3 onwards. I do not even know now if Fable exists or what they are doing with the IP.
On another note, I actually still have a Fable II Bradygames guide sitting around in my bookshelf, full achievement poster and everything which is pretty cool.
Ya I had heard about that glitch in the last part with the skipping days before hand so I made sure I had the gold to do it the "good" way. But just like Fable 2 using real estate is such an easy way to make gold I feel it cheapened the experience. If you had to really work for it I feel it would have been a little better. I have never been downed in 2 or 3, so both are quite easy but still enjoyable to play, well 2 was. I don't remember ever dying in the first one either, I know I have used a resurrection vial at least once though.
Ya Lionhead is gone and so Fable has been doing a bunch of nothing, I had heard another studio was working on a 4th game but I have not heard anything recently.
On another story, I recall finally getting Borderlands 1 with all DLC and I downloaded it at a friends and took it home and it would not work due to being offline. rip
