Just play as a transgender guy? Or get over it?

half the population is not being represented in most games. Gender choice should be required for RPG driven games.

It was a request, not a demand

You can be thrust into a role of a man or woman, Tomb Raider made you a woman, I have never heard anyone want to be a man. That was the story, it was a premise decision.

In the same way I hear little criticism for Fallout: New Vegas shooting you in the head at the start of the game and making you a courier

To be fair - in tomb raider you're playing a named character with an established personality. Part of the point in Fable games is the character is *your* character and you get to determine who they are. Which is probably why they let you set the gender in 2 and 3.

It would be cool to have a mod to give you an additional choice here. Nothing's wrong with playing a man - I just which I had an option to play a woman in this particular game. :)

This...

If I'm playing as a pre-existing character like say Samus or Jim Raynor or Master Chief whatever... it makes sense that I'm them..

but if I'm playing as "Me"... why do I have a ♥♥♥♥?

Half?? There's only female and male... and "fable: TLC" was out since early 2000s... are you really questioning such an old game

To be fair Morrowind - which came out before the OG Fable - had both male and female options of every race in the game for playable characters. Age has nothing to do with what player character options are available. In my opinion it was an oversight in Fable one that they restricted the charater's gender - honestly nothing in the plot calls strongly for a male protagonist. Plus the remaster offered up an opportunity to add in that option.

Think about Pokemon - when red/blue originally came out you could only play as a boy. When they remastered it for fire red/leaf green they added in a girl option! Sure, a sprite is easier to do this with than Fable's morphing character...but it's certainly possible. But, Lionhead is done and this game's released so it's all a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking in regards to official game content. :)

But all of this aside, the OP is specficially requesting this from mod-makers. I'm not sure what the Fable modding community is like... but if the Skyrim community can make a mod that turn all dragons into Randy Savage then I don't think it's way out of line to hope the Fable one will eventually introduce a female player model.

Ultima 3 let me play a woman, and that pre-dated the very concept of Operating Systems

Play the narrative the designers wanted you to play. Can't you SJW's stop demanding that everyone else in the world change for you/cater to you instead of YOU adapting to other people's artistic choices? This is why no one likes you.

And they should shoot TWO versions of EVERY movie over again so we can choose our viewing experience with a male or female lead. What an injustice.

It's an RPG a ROLE playing game. You're taking on the ROLE of this character. And in the game their role is male. Did you see this character get born? Or did you take over when he is already PRE-EXISTING as a male child when you first started the game and began playing his ROLE.

Finally to OP. This was for TLC however.

I'm simply asking for a mod that changes my character model to a woman's, similar mods exist but not for a female character..

I'm not calling Microsoft a bunch of alt-right ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and demanding 10,000 dollars cash and an apolohy because it's Master Chief and not Mistress Chrief.

You DO understand there's a difference right?

This is embarrassing for you.

i wish people didn't react to devs giving the player choice about their character (in a game with choice literally in the tagline) as some grand political statement or a personal attack. the protag in fable isn't some predefined role for us to "step into," the mf doesn't even have a name, and their storyline is almost entirely mutable given the morality system.

The later games included the feature, demonstrating that gender is irrelevant to the plot progression. Therefore I think the lack of a selector in fable 1 is just a limitation of budget, scope, and target audience which was unfortunately a product of its time and would have been nice to see changed in the remaster.

OP, sorry this became a discussion over grand industry trends after you made a very reasonable request and people (including me) jumped in to give their absolutely necessary perspective that in no way is misplaced (lol).
