I want to use 3rd Party PS3 Controller

I have a thrid party PS3 controller by Steren, I've used it for other games on Steam like Brawlhalla and I wish to use it for FABLE, but the options menu only recognizes XBox 360 controllers (not sure if only 1st party versions or 3rd party also) and it does not recognize any input whatsoever from my controller. Is there a way to use my controller for the game? I don't hate the XBox controller, I just personally prefer the design of the DualShock and I don't want to buy a new controller.

P.S. I'm pretty new to Steam in general so I apologize in advance if this type of thread should go iin another category.

Just select one of the Xbox layouts in the controller options and the PS3 controller should work. I completed the game 100% with a 3rd party dualshock controller over the last few days.

Thanks, as I stated, I'm new to Steam and figured out through other discussions on how to do it through big picture mode and such, I feel so dumb now, it was so easy.

You need software that will trick your system into treating it like an Xbox controller. These exist in good supply

I'm able to use a third party PS3 controller without this.
