Development Update - 2026 and forward

I’ve been hard at work on several core systems and gameplay improvements. I also had the logo redo due to it using AI art for the ship. This playtest is to make sure the game is running smoothly and to catch bugs. I also found some bugs already in which I am working on fixing before the playtest. I am renting a server that should support hopefully up to 50 players but we will find out with testing. If the server gets overwhelmed, I will turn on another server I have. I am but one person doing the server physical builds and software side of things while also working on the game. The game is moving forward and so much has changed for the best. I did hire out some work on animations because I tried and they were just rough ones.

The playtest will start on Friday the 13th at 6pm Pacific. The end date hasn't been determined depending on the bugs.

Quest System (New!)

The quest system is now in place, allowing for structured storytelling and meaningful objectives throughout the world.

Quest Types

There are currently four quest types, with the ability to add more based on player feedback:

This system is flexible, so new quest styles can be introduced as the game evolves.
New animations

Sword attack

Axe attack

Flintlock reloading

Helm animation for ships

Quest Journal

Players can now track up to 5 active quests, letting them choose what objectives they want to focus on while exploring.

Fishing Mini-Game

Fishing has been upgraded with a new mini-game, making it more interactive and skill-based when catching fish.

Loot Backend

I’m currently rebuilding the loot backend, which:

Cleans up how loot is managed server-side

Makes item drops more consistent and expandable

Opens the door for more variety and rare finds

The playtest allows us to make sure it works for players.

Ocean & Visual Fixes

Fixed foam rendering issues

Updated ocean visuals for better immersion and consistency

New Skills Added

Two new skills are now live:

Stamina

Increases sprint duration

Improves breath-holding underwater

Fishing

Improves fishing effectiveness

Increases the chance of higher-quality catches
