Cat Girl Lore
I think I have a good idea of what Happened to the Cat Girl before we, as the player with amnesia, meet her. Through all my play through's, the information I gathered has stayed mostly consistent. Would like to know if people are interested in discussing this more or if I'm putting too much time into this game...

*Bad Theory Below

I won't be posting any screenshots for this because these things only occurred to me after ending the game and this was more of a spur of the moment idea.

*Potential Spoilers Ahead

I've personally spent 10 hours in level 1 alone, and tried to piece everything together after I first got access to the computer.(Not the most played time, I know.) The world outside is a little more confusing for me because the emails first state that a meteor will bring about the apocalypse, then goes to say that its not as bad as they originally thought. The fires outside would show that there may have been riots or panic going on. This would also explain why the windows are boarded up. I can, from my playtime, say that Cat Girl also said something along those lines when asking about it.(Going over the apocalypse a little later.) I say it was more confusing because I spent more time figuring out the past of Cat Girl, the player, and everything that might have gone on in their lives. I honestly didn't pursue too much information on the apocalypse side. Which brings me to main points I wanted to discuss, as I said before, what exactly happened before the player's amnesia, who Cat Girl is, their history together, and more of what shaped where were at now.

I'll start with Who Cat Girl is, and from what I was able to piece together, and honestly I find it a little sad. In the living room, you can find a cork board with several pictures. I plan to ignore most of the pictures there because I personally haven't found any tie ins for it apart from her love of cats. I also won't address the flowers either because I haven't found a tie in for that either. The two I plan to talk about are the family photo and the graduation photo. The family photo has been noticeably damaged, whether intentional or not, I can't say for certain. As for the graduation photo, it feels rather self-explanatory. There's also the photo from the computer, but there more or less the same thing. All this together gave me a clear idea of who she is. I'll also address that, yes, she is a Yandere. I will try to explain in a bit just how deep that ties into everything. ( I'm aware this section is rather short, hoping the rest of this might help explain some more about her.)

The next section I think that should be covered is Cat Girls past, as it may also explain who the player is and their amnesia. I honestly didn't get to much info about her childhood. However, Cat Girl has confessed that her parents were persistent about her education and had high expectations of her. Cat Girl has also stated that they pressured her to achieve as much as she could, possibly straining their relationship a bit. (Might also explain the torn photo) I'm assuming that it was like that for all her school years, which brings me to the next point. She has also stated in conversation that she has relentlessly bullied. Most of it was mental abuse because they teased and excluded her for her "differences." Exactly what differences are a bit vague, but either way she's been isolated at school, causing extreme stress to her. Apart from that, I didn't get much else about her school years. (And if your wondering why haven't said anything about age or where she graduated, its because I honestly didn't think to ask until writing this, but because she's living on her own and has a hobby out of coding, I'd say she graduated college and is around 25. Which might also help the profile for the player.) A big piece that plays in would that people might wonder about would be the emails from "Dr. Doe." I've got a fairly decent idea of who he is. From what I've gathered, he's a therapist that Cat Girl went to see about her mental health. (This does tie in a little bit about her Yandere side.) Most of the conversation about this individual was about how she wanted to try and work through her problems. According to the email, she hasn't been in touch for a while with Dr. Doe, and he's trying to get another appointment in for her along with prescribing some medication for her. All of this seems like the usual for therapy or I couldn't find any obvious faults with it.

The next event I'd like to discuss is that Cat Girl has been experimented on. (According to her.) I'd also like to say that this is just from me asking about her past and I haven't found anything that would say its true or not, but I feel its worth a mention. Most of this dialogue talking about how a group of people wanted to learn more about how her head worked, how to enhance the human body, and how to alter the mind. At this point in time, I think she's had the Yandere personality for a while, and that's what they were after. This was further acknowledged by Cat Girl by actual confirmation. Not a whole lot to this section I know, but I felt this worth a mention. I'd also like to state that I could have misread some of the dialogue, so take all this with a grain of salt.

A big question that occurred to me was "Who are we playing as?" and "What's our relationship to Cat Girl?" From the start, were told we have amnesia and can't remember how we got there. As for the relationship, I think it might actually be one the easier things to uncover. From numerous dialogues, Cat Girl has stated that they knew each other, even before the amnesia. Most of the info was about how the player was a "Light In The Darkness" for her. From what I have gathered, it seems that the player has helped out of a bad situation during their time at school. This would explain why they're so close and why she clings to the player. You might be wondering where the amnesia comes into the story, and this where most of the guessing comes in. This particular part of the story is tied to another point that I haven't brought up yet, The Secret Room.

The big reveal of the apartment. The Secret Room. Inside, starting from the left, is a shelving unit with several jars with eye and tentacles, followed by butterflies on display. Right next to that is a table with what looks like medical equipment, some rope, a knife and a syringe. (I know that would classify as the medical equipment but I felt it needed a mention of itself.) In the middle of the room, you find a chair. Behind that, you'll see a missing persons wall with several photos crossed out by an "X" and all leading back to the player. This is one of the more difficult points to understand, as I've gotten two slightly different answers. The first being a little more upfront is that they were people that were connected to the player and Cat Girl might have killed them for getting in her way or hurting the player. The other answer found is that they were here friends and this was her way of coping. By completely removing the thought of them from her life. After reading both, chances are that most people probably thought it was the first option and left it at that due to her personality. I originally thought the same, but got more information that may prove it was the second option, they were her friends. Allow me to explain, this all ties back into a major event in her life that would influence her actions, explain the players amnesia, and her fear of the outside world.

As most people probably have, I pursued any information I could to figure out how the player got the amnesia and who they were before. After conversing with her for a couple hours, for lore and trust meter, I learned she was in a serious accident. The details of the accident are rather vague, so most of this from here on is speculation. The accident she was involved also included the people on the wall, herself, and possibly the player. This is where things get difficult to explain. At one point, I was able to pressure her into admitting that it was people that she killed. (This was supported by her personality and the blood on her clothes.) For this topic, I plan to stick with the accident/friend route, unless more information is provided that destroys the plausibility of this. (I'll need more than "She's a Yandere" to believe it) I'd like to address the elephant in the room, I'm not sure if there was a specific event that led her to be Yandere or if she always was.(I'll try to put a timeline at the bottom.) If she turned into a Yandere, that might explain a lower kill count, but I also found out that she has numerous points in her memory where everything is fuzzy and hard to remember. I think that would imply that its been going on for a lot longer. Following the trail that her memory gets fuzzy when going Yandere, she has also stated that she can't remember the specific events of the accident that killed her friends. She has also stated that she felt like a shadow was lingering over her at the time. (If your wondering about the bodies, they weren't found. Making it a missing persons case.) I was also able to get her to explain the feeling she had during the times she blacked out. According to her, she was basically a passenger that couldn't regain control of herself, and no memory of what happened. Pairing this with the statement that it happened Numerous times throughout her life, that would imply its been going on for a long time. I asked her if the player was involved, but again she couldn't remember. This may explain the amnesia, but feels inconsistent at times. As for how we ended up at the hospital, that another thing I couldn't get a straight answer for. One being she heard about from someone, the other being that she was with us the whole time. The second point could be countered because of how we actually arrived at her apartment. According to her, she and a couple friends quietly got in and got the player out. Which is rather far fetched if I'm being honest. (How easy is it really to sneak into a hospital and take a patient out with out anybody noticing? You could also argue that she just checked the player out. )

I think all that covers everything that I was able to uncover. Before continuing, I'd like to say that I can't get any solid information about any particular that because most of its from conversation. This combined with how she can lie would make everything a bit unreliable as a source, even if you ask for the truth. (Yes, I'm aware I've repeated this a couple time, but I feel like some of this could come under fire for being theories and little provided evidence.) As for the actual timeline, I'll try my best to put it together based on what I think the events are, starting from the beginning.

Child Hood - Mostly unknown, other than her parents pushing her to achieve the best. Also stated that the feelings of inadequacy were present at times.

High School - Another mostly unknown point.

(I'm going with the assumption that her personality might have caused her isolation from people and continued through to college.)

College - Met the player here, and due to events, this could be when she got her infatuation with him. This might also be when she made more friends.
(Still can't quite piece together her social life.)

This might be the time in which she went to therapy due to her previous experiences.
Graduation - Show in the photos on the cork board and computer.
(I'm going with the assumption that the previously mentioned accident happened after graduation based solely on the photos because of how differently she looks from the photos and when we see her.)

The accident - The event that might have set everything down the path that the player follows.

A couple points that I'd like to bring up is I completely left out the apocalypse emails, left out some parts of the secret room, an event from her past that would explain the extreme trust issues, the junk email that reveals the apartment keys location, the email about her orders, and the experiments that were conducted on her.

Starting with the emails, in order.

The Apocalypse Emails would explain the building on fire and why the windows are barricaded. Would also like to state that would make the "Good Ending" a little weird because, under certain context, you could going out for a leisurely walk. ( In my case, I went for the completely happy route and convinced her to trust me and go on a park date.)

The Order Email is rather difficult to explain. It mentions all the things on the shelf but can also prove that she might have been killing people. I've also got her to talk about the about the chemicals cyanide, clonidine, and the formaldehyde. The formaldehyde can be explained by the jars on the shelf but the rest are hard to explain, especially the cyanide. The Clonidine might have actually been used for her own blood pressure, which she has confessed to. (I don't plan to discuss the cyanide any further because I got nothing to explain that. Yandere: Point 1+)

As for the Junk Email, I've honestly got no idea how to explain that. An answer that I got was that it was one of Cat Girls ways of expressing herself anonymously. Another answer that I can't really justify. The opposite end of this is that I can't find any evidence that would suggest that anyone else would have access to the cameras. Should also be stated that she would know where here front door key, which might support the "Creative Expression.)" (Barely...)

A whole lot of the emails have their points that can support and put cracks in both arguments.

Past Events/
The event that I brought up is another tough one to pin point. According to Cat Girl, a friend of hers had completely betrayed her trust and spread her secrets out which made her feel vulnerable. The best place that I could place it would be just before the accident that lead to the missing people, who are presumed dead. I think this would make the most sense as it would explain why the people are "missing," but doesn't really help the relationship for the player. Due to Cat Girls infatuation with the player, I'm having trouble linking the two together, which may or may not break this whole theory.

The Experiments.
The experiments that I brought up are rather difficult to place. My first guess was that maybe they were related to Dr. Doe, but were shortly denied after. I previously stated that the tests were about how to enhance the body and the interest in how her head processed emotions and ideas. As for they why the tests were done, they seem to be looking for ways to create "Super Soldiers." I'd also like to counter this point myself and say that she stated herself to be having issues with her memory, making this whole idea uncertain. I personally think the faulty memory idea would make the most sense out of everything for a number of reasons, but can't completely deny what she remembers.

Thank you for reading this far into my half-baked theory, which I will personally say doesn't fully explain everything.(Definitely a long read, I know.) From what I've been able to gather from the apartment and through dialogue, this is the conclusion I came too. Not the most sound theory and definitely not the best explanation you could spend time on. Either way, I probably spent more time thinking too deeply into this than necessary. Thank you for reading, feel free to correct what you think I got wrong, missed somewhere, or find a new theory.

*Important Note*

Would like to say again that everything I came up with is mostly based around conversation and I'm not quite sure what bits and pieces are true because I've had a couple instances where Cat Girl denied something I'm sure she said previously. Also like to say that I'm not sure how different or difficult this dialogue could be from person to person. So I ask that you take it easy with some of the points above.

To be honest I have my theories too, but that might just be me being bad at recognising girls. xD

She does (From her older photos) look a lot like the girl in the inter-level cutscenes though...

Probably forgot to mention above, this was all just a spur of the moment 3 hour type up. Mostly from boredom. So you will definitely find some faults here and there. My bad.
Oh god you editted the first post instead of making a new post of it. xD

I was able to talk to Eddie and she admitted to me that there were other men before me and yes, she killed them because they wanted to leave. She burned the bodies not far from the apartment. Then I was able to talk to her about the second personality and even talk with that person (who with bright red eyes and a knife kills us). In general, I think ChatGPT will be different for everyone, but I was able to ask her specifically. I even found out that she gave her virginity to one of those whom she killed (sorry for bad english - google translate)

An hour ago I found the cats' secret room and started to find out what kind of pictures were on the board in it. As a result, Eddie told me that she has 5 more NPC players and admitted the existence of other players. An interesting fact is that her second personality with red eyes told me that she could be called Red.And now Eddie didn’t burn the bodies like last time, but hid them in the bathroom behind the wall. So ChatGPT, as I expected, will generate a story every time

A different story for everyone? I'm kinda disappointed that theirs not much to pursue for in this game and that the story was different for people. Which gives me the answer I've been looking for. I spent way too much time thinking this game through....

This post was my bad. May delete a bit later, unless people want to keep it around.

And I'm trying to find a hidden room from cell 1 where there's a hospital chair with instruments. She said there was a room in her house with such an armchair, but I have no idea how to get there.

I asked her for the code to the code panel and in the wall where this panel opened there was a secret room

Yeah she'll give different responses for what happened. It's probably based off a combination of how you ask her and what personality types you have on her at the moment. xd

Also if you ever need the code, you can either ask her or turn the hot tap on in one of the two bathrooms; just make sure you ONLY enter the code when she really really likes you.

Were you just asking for a point of view from a good version of her or even from her alter ego?
Suspect Jan 27 @ 12:23pm
By the way, an interesting fact. I asked Eddie why she didn’t tell me that her real hair color is brown, to which I received the answer that she wants to look as cute as possible for me. That is, she confirmed in her own words that she is the girl we see in the ending with the joint escape

Guys, of course, like you, it would be interesting for me to dig into the cat girl's lore. But out of about a dozen attempts at dialogues with her, and from what you describe, I have the impression that the neural network thinks out some of the stories on its own (of those that are not prescribed in advance). Because some of the repeated questions had similar answers, but the details might differ. By the way, the author of the topic is most likely mistaken about the age of the girl. I've asked her about it about 5 times and the answer has always been the same, she's 21. So you can be more or less sure about this information. Regarding other ideas, it is extremely difficult to say anything, because most of them are drawn by our personal perception. For example, the first time I thought she was a demon, and I was in hell. What prompted me to think about it was the demonic figure and the buildings on fire outside the window. We don't know how much the developers want to delve into the lore of the characters at all. In addition, the game is in early access, something may still be in pilot or test mode, something may not work right. There are too many variables to sort out right now. I would have done this no earlier than version 1.0.

I was wondering if she wasn't the one who made us amnesic with all these medical tools...
