edit: hahahahahaha I completely misread the achievement, no wonder it seemed so hard. I thought it was "one line connected to all stations" but it's "one station connected to all lines".
I don't know if they rebalanced this on the whole game, but the newest maps spreads a lot of square stations making reaching these achievements quite easy, for experienced players
Damn I think half of my playtime was trying to get Auckland achievement
1) Extra lines are low priority, if their amount not required for achievement;
2) Loops are better than lines, but if you don't have enough tunnels, use lines to carry people across rivers. Don't forget to have 1:1 ratio between clockwise and counter-clockwise moving trains;
3) Have one extra line and at least one extra train (and maybe even extra tonnels) to make ghost lines from overflowed stations: create one and then delete it, a train will carry people before dissapearing. It's the main trick to get all achievements easely;
4) Don't forget to rearrange lines and move trains and carriages when one line has it too easy.
