As for buying the game, I was going to but after receiving the news that a major new feature is missing on PC I sure as hell won't pay the full price for it. Either waiting for sale, a discounted option on the various sellers out there or a "free" version of it.
Kinda sad, as this will be the first one in the series I didn't pre-order instantly.
Most modes in the game are probably stuff I'm not going to touch.
For many years my interest has been CAW and Universe mode.
While I still hope for more then 100 CAWS and I wish the unlocker DLC that comes out actually unlocked EVERYTHING so I didn't have to look at the other modes in the game to unlock everything.
I haven't made up my mind in regards to getting either the PS5 or Xbox version.
So, wait for summer sales or sooner if you get at least a 50% discount. This game should be something like Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat; it means it should be released once every few years. People won't pay cash for in-game items for modes such as Faction unless they have extra money in their wallet and do not know what to do with it.
Since 2k15. WWE always suffers from a mode that has replayability value. My rise is scripted, Universe Mode needs a goal, and GM mode has replayability only for a couple of times.
I have watched some EA UFC streams on Twitch. There is a mode in that game similar to FIFA Ultimate Team, which means every player creates their own characters and participates in offline and online matches and powers up their attributes. WWE definitely needs one mode like this. It's pretty similar to FIFA Ultimate Team; the only difference is that in FIFA you own a team, but in UFC you own a single athlete.
So, either 2K needs to make a mode like that or something like NBA 2K career mode. Yet there are no actual details about Island mode, but since it's not coming for PC, I don't care about it.
Another suggestion is that wrestling games, whether they belong to 2K or THQ, always use the <<catch, strike, and reverse>> system, which is kind of scripted moves and makes the wrestling games look robotic, if you know what I mean. It's better that developers put a step ahead and make smoother moves with much more dynamic physics in the game, like unscripted things can happen in the game, like if two wrestlers accidentally run towards each other or an obstacle, they make a fall for it, but this needs a huge improvement in core gameplay, which I don't see in the near future, especially if they continue to release it yearly.
I am VERY CONCERNED about the island just being a 1 for 1 rip of The City from NBA 2K to a point where you will have to grind for hours/days or spend tens of thousands of VC to do anything.
Throw in I can play the steam version on more devices (my ASUS Rog and anything else using steam link) and I am leaning here....especially if I can get it from GMG for a 15% discount.
But yeah; definitely getting it - likely here but I am still on the fence til I see some island game play.
I went in for WWE 2K24 and it was a really respectable upgrade.
I'm sitting this one out and waiting out another year.
WWE 2K26.
But the fact that it's marketed as the big feature of the year means that I object to said big feature not being present for a portion of the playerbase who pay the same amount.
For that I think I'll just wait until it's on sale or maybe pass this year.
I want to play a video game, not a social commentary.
Intergender matches alredy announced, dude (:
