Solid "opening his own PMC" might not have ever happened exactly, but him and Otacon starting Philanthropy in MGS2, and seeking to destroy all Metal Gears and work towards nuclear disarmerment seems to be in the same vein. Solid and Otacon in Philanthropy being like Big Boss and Kaz in MSF/Diamond Dogs. Except, where MSF built their own metal gear and fed off the global war economy, Philanthropy sought world peace through nuclear disarmament and deconstruction of all Metal Gear type weapons.
And... Miller? What about Otacon's father?
Where in the rhetoric of MSF did they mention communism in any way, or did they at any point function as one? And how did Philanthropy fight for money? Nuclear disarmarment was their primary goal, and that is all they faught for or cared about, money was never a part of it.
If they were TRULY in it for money, they would have capitalized on the growing demand for Metal Gear type weapons, and the means to counter them. So if ANYONE was making a profit over the growing war economy, it was MSF, a countryless, ideology-less band of mercenaries whose only purpose in life was to fulfill military contracts and bring in untold millions of dollars.
Why Patriots was in no hurry to turn Solid in to another PMC owner? Because he already was well oiled cog of war economy since MGS1.
MSF Only worked for the soviets because the soviet agent that came with Paz to their shack on the beach presented him with a recording with The Boss's voice on it, leading him to believe she was alive. He could not have cared any LESS about communisim, capitalism, or any poliical ideology, he only cared about The Boss and fufilling her will. He only worked with the soviets so far as it it helped him know if The Boss was alive or not.
Mother Base was given to MSF as payment for accepting the mission. From that point onward MSF had full ownership, NOT the Kremlin. It was payment for service.
The Sandonistas were only given shelter on MSF because they were useful to Big Boss at the time, and all praise of El Che was given by the Sandonistas not Big Boss or Kaz. Fidel Castro was not at any point even mentioned beyond when they were discussing the Cubal missle crisis (and I just played MGS3 and Peace Walker through again a few days ago.)
MSF's whole point and purpose was that it had no country, no political ideology, not capitalist, not communist, not ANYTHING. Big Boss's main take-away from what happened to The Boss is that all countries, Communist AND Capitalist, mearly use and abuse their soldiers until they no longer have use and hang them up to dry. He had no politics. Only an ideology that he believed in, one where soldiers should form armies under their own control, take the missions they see fit, and not answer to ANY government or political agenda besides their own. The last thing they could possibly fight for at that point is personal survival and profit. They were war incarnate. Nothing less, nothing more.
And you should listen briefing files once again, especially about Cuba and Japan, Kaz and Big Boss ARE honored Castro as living hero and bewailed about Guevara's death.
Also, it's Chiko and Paz were saved by Big Boss in Ground Zeroes.
If it's something, why not broaden their audience by releasing MGS: The Legacy Collection to the Xbox brand and PC.
Just my theory
As for VI?
Your guess is as good as mine.
And cyber-augmentation.
That's been the case for every single MGS since 2.
"Hebidamashii
A weapon exclusive to the Japanese version of the game, the Hebidamashii (蛇魂? Snake Spirit) is available as part of the VR Missions DLC released in March 2013 and can be purchased in-game for 10,000 BP. It is a mystical wooden sword created through the latest advancements in "spiritual technology" in order to pass on the wisdom of the legendary Solid Snake to future generations. It plays a variety of voiced quotes from Solid Snake depending on the situation (i.e. if Raiden encounters one of the Men In Boxes, the Hebidamashii will remark that "people who like cardboard boxes can't be that bad"). Its combat capabilities are otherwise similar to the standard Wooden Sword."
Basically meaning he's dead.
