Whats the best way to play the series on PC?
I don't have the money to buy a console and the older games and i'm not really sure where I can get the games otherwise, was hoping some solid fans could point me the right way.

The only ones you can play legally are 1 and 2, which were both originally released on PC. As for the rest? You'll have to ask elsewhere,.

Well, you have to download emulators+bios(downloading bios is illegal) then download the game from piratebay. And emulating the game.

Damn.. That's what I was afraid of. 1 and 2 are also grossly overpriced on Amazon when I looked so that sorta sucks. It's unfortunate that they haven't just put the legacy or hd collections out on steam yet.

If you want to play the whole series on pc you can't because there is no way to play mgs 4, so forget about it. Rent a ps3 and find a legacy collection, or buy the all games except mgs 4, find msx, ps2 and psp emulator, for metal gear 1 and 2 buy a msx game reader to play the games on pc or hopefully wait for the day the legacy collection release to pc. The choice is yours.

Yeah, you can pirate the games but I won't recommend.

Yeah I was aware I wouldn't be able to play MGS4 no matter what. Which sucks because I love a lot of the features added for that game.

with the "playstation now" service of sony, we can rent the games and play in ps4. as far as i know MGS 4 is one of them?

Right but I don't own any playstation consoles. I was just trying to find pc specific solutions.

If you want to experience the series, you won't have much luck on PC.

I never played the PC port of MGS1- but I hear it's good.
I have MGS2 on PC and graphically its an awesome port, control wise they really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. There's no way to change the controls to make it suitable for controllers which sucks.

And the BEST MGS game (imo) 3: Snake Eater, does not have a PC release.
Kojima at the very least should bring MGS 3 and Peace Walker to STEAM to catch us up on Big Boss. If just 3 and Peace Walker become available on STEAM I will seriously buy it.

MGS1&2 were ported to PC. Snake Eater, Twin Snakes, Peace Walker can be played on emulators

Don't forget Portable Ops via Emulator too. That's the one that starting the whole soldier napping to start an army thing.

Very excited for that feature in Phantom Pain. I love base management type stuff.

According to kojima that game is not canon, that's why -{RED}- Ser Tristan doesn't have to play.

Oh really? Huh, was it developed by a third party or something? Well doesn't matter. I was more interested in peace walker over PO I suppose it seemd to refine PO better and seemed more relevant.

Kojima ain't directed po, he dislikes the metal gear games he ain't directed. Play pw instead.
