METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Is there a way to destroy comms equipment without equipping a lethal/loud weapon or forcing a specific weapon in my loadout? (MGS V)
Long story short, I'm trying to avoid equipping any lethal/loud weaponry for reasons and would ideally like to keep my loadout as it is (both my primary slots and my secondary slot are kinda vital for what I'm trying to go for here and I really don't wanna change the weapons I'm using if I can avoid it), and after testing out a non-lethal stun shotgun on comms equipment (the stuff with the blue lights you find at bases sometimes that lets the base communicate with the outside or whatever its description was), as well as trying to hit it with the rocket fist upgrade I just got, neither option worked, and nothing goes boom. Tranqs don't work either, nor does the stun first from my testing with the second upgrade of it. It seems as though the only feasibly option is to either use something lethal that is very loud like a bomb (which I want to avoid), or change my loadout in some way to incorporate a lethal weapon with a silencer (also something I would really prefer not to do, I really do not wish to change my primary or secondary weapon).

I know this seems like a strange restriction and all, but is there any chance here? Something I might be missing in this game where so many options exists?

Thank you.

uhh, taking out comms is gonna be loud no matter what you do.

only other option is taking out the radio in the comms room.

but taking out the radar dish will almost always be loud from what i can tell.

use a chaff from mother base?

Huh. Weird. IIRC correctly using a silenced lethal weapon didn't really cause much noise when I destroyed them previously during an early mission, but maybe I'm just misremembering how far away enemies were. I'll have to test that out again!

If you don't mind using a lethal prosthetic arm, the blast arm running punch works assuming you have it. (Which is also compatible for the "No Traces" bonus!)
You could also try the miserable approach of ramming a vehicle until it explodes next to the comms equipment.

Yes, by using helicopter's minigun, it not even accounts as "you" weapon XD
Actualy you are forced to have at least water gun
The water gun will silently take out comms equipment. I don't remember how to get the water gun. It's been too many years.

Issue is the water-gun takes up a weapon loadout slot. Would be perfect otherwise.

Gotta imagine it's not a quiet option, haha, but thanks! I'll be sure to test this out anyway.

Yes, but that's mostly a non-issue. There's no need to concern yourself with the slot if the goal is purely to take out the comms equipment without raising alarm. If you run into a situation where you need something else in the slot, I'm going to assume that S rank has already been blown, then just call a supply drop for the weapon you need in the slot.

This is also my problem.

Depending on my loadout I sometimes have this problem. I recommend planting C4 in the comms room and setting it off if you go loud so you don't have to worry about reinforcements.
