METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Do you guys kill enemies or not?
Just wondering how many people who play the game kill people.
Sometimes if i'm trying to get somewhere and a guard is in the way who will definitely spot me i'll take him out but mostly i try to just put people to sleep.

eventually my demon points were too high, so i just kept killing, sucks to have the awful looking demon snake appearance. but i guess it is cool too staying pacifist

in single player, the best way to play is totally non lethal.
In FOB, the best way to play is repainting the enemy FOB red
I'd say i do about 75% non lethal and the rest killing.
My first playthrough Snake's horn was massive, i'm trying to be less of a maniac this time.
If they see me and I can't dodge an alert yes :Ocelot:

Really depends if you care about being demon snake. I couldn't care less, so I play lethal mostly. Non-lethal is useful when you don't want an alert as soon as a solider finds his dead buddy. That and body-shotting a group of soldiers with tranquillisers, and watching while they all fall asleep one by one, is great.
I killed a lot in my first playthrough on PlayStation, but now I have went (almost) full pacifist. The only exceptions is the two guys in the first mission, the required knife kills (killed The Major in On The Trail three times) to unlock the Mantis code, having the helicopter kill people for the Hawk codename, accidental FOB kills from non-lethal shotgun & revolver blasts, and killing Snake to get the medal of honor. Managed to do all other lethal codenames against the skulls. But yeah... A lot more killing is awaiting us:VSnake::heartinpieces:

I do tranquilizing mostly and a few CQC. Every time I complete a mission, I get the Octopus rank for being non lethal and its annoying.
With mods you can kill without having the horn and the dead soldiers go to your mother base anyway
Yes i do
It's faster just to do an mop-up for me then do things sneaky way, stealth camo does negate it but (in plan of making it actualy faster) it afects max rank
Also demon poits are easly clearable, and even if you won't then there just an refugi rescuie
I don't, unless they hurt D-Dog. Then I call bombardment.
Yes I got demon snake twice
I don't do this. Most of the enemies in this game are Russian. It's pretty hard to kill a man that speaks the same language as you, and they say things like "no i don't want to die" so I feel like a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when doing this. Knowing that they're likely just guys who were forced to become soldiers adds to this, the dialogues between them does too. I think kokojumba made it on purpose so you'd value their lives as they can be YOUR soldier too?

I think he made it this way for two reasons: 1. So that the propaganda victims who indulge their monkey instinct "speaks an incomprehensible language - is not human - ok to kill" could see their own kind in the shoes of those who can be killed, and start thinking whether it is really okay to kill someone just because they're different. 2. So that those who want to "protect our homeland" by invading other countries could see it's not all sunshine, bunnies, and toilet bowl "trophies", but most likely blood, fear, and death, not for "those outlander freaks", but for them.

I bring lethal knife DD to kill people for me when necessary, as my only leathal option is often my own knife. That said, it's generally 95% non-lethal for me, I find it more satisfying disabling the enemy than just putting one between their eyes.
