METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

How long to 100%?
Did a bit of info on site procurement and want to see what everyone else has on lenght of game.

Found a bit of paradoxal info. Some journalist played 15 hours of it, giving the game to-beat-time of around 150 hours.
Other statements are that campaign will be around 20 and altogether 50 hours to hit 100% (with replays, for Zekes sake!), and that nuked my enthusiasm a bit.

Read on third place it will be around 100 hours, and that eased my fear a bit. But not knowing for sure stings, and have to consider pain for the wallet if game is on the short end, specially with sneaking games.

Anyone has something more tangible or it is gambling with nothing solid (snake)?

Press? Tech info from dev? Marketing not on EU/US languages? Somebody doing a better job at digging than you and me?

The time to complete the game is based on how casuals play (buy the game, play through the story without looking at what the game offers, then forget about it) so that 100 or 150 hours to beat is just a casual play and not really exploring what the game offers. Skyrim offered 100 hours of gameplay yet the average playtime is 500+. The Witcher 3 offered 100 hours yet the average playtime is 250. MGSV supposedly has 100 hours to beat yet we all know that it will reach the likes of Skyrim and The Witcher 3.

That is something I was thinking about. Also, yes, completely forgot Witcher 3 gave preliminary stats on how long time to beat was.

So, you also have info that MGS is 100ish hours to beat?

Mate, focus on how fun is the game. Not just how long. Here a good video on the topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5LL3VCZC5w

I am playing the witcher and I feel sincerely overwhelmed on how much stuff there is in there. Too much distraction that brings me sometimes game paralysis even if the level of storytelling it is great!

Nope. I don't have info and I don't know how to estimate since the sheer scope and features available makes the game so replayable. If I had a definite answer to give you though, it's this:

I always do. But, not unlike with good books, I am not in to pocket editions, so to say. Also, I am really casual with going trough, really despise speedruns or playing game for going trough "finish line".
Note that, despite that, I really enjoyed MGS:GZ. Probably because it is more like reading a prologue.

It will definitely be very long with around 100+ hours long for a completionist. A casul can always get around 30 or 40 hours.

Ground Zeroes took me around 36hours for that 100% Completion Ratio. A portion of that included you to play one mission 4 times. So that should give you an idea what TPP is gonna be

I've seen the story is around 30-50 hours long. I can't say how many story levels there are, but there's over 150 side ops (side missions). There's also collectables, your Motherbase to build and maintain, weapons/tech to research, etc. Add in the FOB invasions, and you'll get more gametime there.

I can potentially see myself putting around 300 hours into this game due to the replayability (gotta get those S ranks!), the depth to Motherbase and its customisation, and the FOB invasions.

I think it will be longer than 200+! I always leave myself time for games like this! I will in Fallout too!

Same here. Around 40 hour mark on GZ.

Like replaying, but hope it is not just that to it. Iam a bit divided on FOB, it has potential to go sour way really fast if anti-cheat fails or you have few people that start farming somebody.
