Well that sucks, maybe they didin't add it because he wont be around large bodies of waters as much? I dont want to justify it because all previous metal gears (in my memory) have had snake or raiden swimming so it would be a shame if you cant go for a dip.

Not a deal breaker, but I didn't see this one coming... For as useless as it was, pretty much every MGS game directed by Kojima had some sort of underwater mobilty option except Peace Walker. MGS2 tried to add some importance by adding a story segment that depended on it but that was hardly a gameplay moment that could be considered a staple in the series. Not to mention swimming was never well implemented in terms of gameplay.

I don't think it is hard for them to add swimming ability, unless it is intended,

as far as i have heard it plays in afghanistan.....how many large bodys of water are there?? just look at a map of that country. why waste time to let snake swim which you might use 1 time in the entire game?? there are other things that could be done in the game that has a bigger influence...

Yup they said some of the locations are Afghan and Africa. Mother Base itself is offshore, but I dont think we will swim around it.

Sometimes, realism tries to go so far that it makes a game less fun or cringy. This would be an exmaple.

Swimming was never a big part of MGS games anyway in 2 and 3 (only ones I can think of that had swimming). Large areas of deep waters aren't supposed to be common in TPP anyway, they are probably going to serve as part of world borders.

MGS 1 had swimming in the beginning HUE HUE :D

Northern Kabul has only one body of water which is a rather large lake on the northern most part it.
