What does the Carboard Box mean to you?

You see, to me, the Cardboard Box is another character, as I see it, and one that understands Snake better than anyone else. As Big Boss said himself: It was his "destiny" to be in the box. The cardboard box had never failed him and was always there when Snake needed it most. In fact Solid Snake influenced others, such as Raiden, to use the box even saying that the fate of the mission hinges on how he uses that box. Snake also mentions other agents were "saved by using the box. The box is Snake's best friend and the only inanimate object he ever loved.

Anyways (god that was weird), how will you use the box and how often? For me I like to take advantage of it as often as possible. The most common situation where I require to use my box is when a guard sees me moving and come to investigate. Normally, you would back away and wait but what if you can't? You may be in a small room or a dead end and he will definitely see you. I find the closest corner and hide under my box. Absolutely fool-proof. I mean the cardboard box has only given me an alert status roughly 165 times... Also, did you know a french prisoner actually used a cardboard box to escape prison!? Real life Snake? I think so.

What are your thoughts on the stealth icon that is the Carboard Box?

A box of fun :), i'm just gonna box clever, ha, it's one of the trade mark item of the mgs series, also, apparentley and according to metal gear wiki ... Snake covering himself with a cardboard box is a homage to the titular character of Abe Koubou's novel Hako Otoko (Box Man), of which series director Hideo Kojima is a fan.

I just love how it's so dumb but so believable, I mean I wouldn't think to check a box. It saddens me to think funny things such as this may not be present in future MGS titles as consequence to Kojima's departure. :(
