Will the game go down in price IMMEDIATELY after launch?
It's £45.99 right now here in Britland. Do Steam game's prices go down straight after launch or will it continue to be £45.99 ?

No idea but if your problem is the high price you can found the key for less :steamhappy:

It will continue unless they come up with a hype sale or something. Preorders (almost) never cost more because they are preorders (or it would be a ripoff)

You won't see this game go down in price for the next year at least, by my estimation.

I swear I have seen games on Steam be a higher price in their pre order stages, and then go down in price once it is released on release day.

Do I have it totally wrong?

highly unlikely, after release the game will be at the same price, but maybe after a year from release the game might get a discount.

you got 2 options

1- buy the game at it current price
2- wait for a discount.

I think that's happened for some early access titles due to their kickstarter goals, where alpha/beta access was on a higher tier than the base game. They launched in early access at a price that matched the alpha/beta tier, then dropped the price for release.

It's certainly not the norm, pre-orders are usually either the same price or 10% off. If the price immediately dropped, it's very likely konami would get hit by refunds and people would buy cheaper keys on the grey market or wait until the next summer sale and get it for 33 - 50% off.

GTA is still 59€ and this is a Konami product so it's very unlikely it will drop so soon.

i highly dought that, it might suck for new comers for the series, but for hardcore fans it will be a blast.

in my openion, this game is Kojima's biggest master piece.

i'm a newcomer to the series and judging by ground zeroes alone even newcomers will have a blast as the gameplay is absolutely fantastic and although i didnt fully understand it to begin with it was still very enjoyable and even better once i had read up the history of metal gear, which i recommend any other newcomer to do too.
