Analog face buttons does not make for good sight (Press slightly) and firing controls (Press fully). Likewise, the X to crouch then stick to crawl has been a terrible control method ever since the very first game.
The controls in Peace Walker were great. All it really lacked on PSP was a second analog stick. And wouldn't you know, the HD collection version for PS3/Xbox 360 fixed that. :D
Your friends are bad.
You really should get some better ones.
I grab a soldier for interrogation, instant throat-slitting, thereby blocking me from enjoying one aspect of the game. I go to first-person view and aim my gun, but since target moved out of range before I could aim properly (the analog sticks on this controller are clunky as hell, and much less sensitive to full-tilts, half-tilts, and the tilts in-between), I wanted to slowly ease on the Weapon button so I don't shoot (like in the PS2) but darn thing shoots a round regardless.
I feel less guilt for replaying the game using save states because of these problems.
Also I liked the analog face buttons being utilised, I thought it was a nice touch. Probably requires a softer touch than most use with their controllers though.
That's the thing though. Why should it require a softer touch when every single other game handles aiming and shooting with two separate buttons that are much more intuitive to use?
I can think of only two games that actually use analog face button controls and that's Metal Gear Solid 3 and Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball and the latter used it for a mini-game and pretty much nothing else. That's how great of an idea that was.
