PC port?
I've played all the MGS games and I've been debating on buying MGS5 for the PC(master race) or PS4. Can someone that has played Ground Zeroes tell me how the controls are and how optimized the game is? I'm skeptical about buying for the PC before I hear someone's story. Don't want to play a horrible port is all

GZ was perfect :)

Game optimisation is great. People were running GZ on crappy laptops. I've not seen a PC release as good as GZ in a very long time. The controls were decent. There was no mouse control in menus, and the weapon wheel in-game lacked mouse movement control. However the keyboard bindings were good, and the game still played well with a keyboard and mouse.

TPP will address several things people didn't like about GZ, such as more graphical options, and better mouse control, etc.

GZ was a great port, have a very little issue with mouse cursor (stay on load icon) but nothing critical.

got it on both consoles, i liked the xbone version more just the controller really :P ps4 has slighty better graphics. both are 60fps ones 1080 others 720. optimized would be better on console than pc for any game cough batman :P controlls would be the same across any of the platforms if u use a pad ofc :P

for TPP both are still 60fps ones 1080 and i dont know xbone maybe 900/920p.

if you like to play MP id stay clear of PC version. only thing that drove me insane is having the windows busy/working circle onscreen all the time on ground zeros PC :(

The optimization was perfect. My old GTX570 / i5-2400 combo ran the game on high settings/60fps (1080p), even though I'm below minimum requirements I think.

Controls were great for me, except for the menu controls (no mouse).

I have that problem as well. Hope they fix that with TPP, but if not its not too hard to hide up in the top-right of the screen.

Ground Zeroes is well optimized for pc. I could run it on 60 fps@high details with a FX8350, 8gb Ram, Radeon 7950 (half the power of a regular GTX970) on 1920x1080. The only problem is the sniper scope control which is to sensitive but this problem will be fixed in Phantom Pain.

Honestly Ground Zeroes must be one of the best (if not THE best) ports to have come in recent years. I am absolutely sure Phantom Pain will be as good.

The PC version of Ground Zeroes is actually one of the best PC ports I've ever played. Unless you really want a physical copy, I'd say PC, without question.

IF this port is half the port Ground Zeroes was then it should be fine. Ground Zeroes was a perfect port and there were very few issues that got patched quickly.

Controls, game plays ok with keyboard or gamepad, tho I think mouse is bit better than gamepad.

I had that too but all I had to do to make it go away was click the mouse once.

As for the port, its really good and all evidence points to TPP far surpassing the console versions. Just look at Konami's official comparison shots. PC looks like a 2015 game while the PS4 still looks like it should be on PS3.

Also, the controls are really good on PC. I used a controller at first because I wasn't used to the KBM controls but once you get good its actually way better.

I have GZ on 360 and on PC thanks to the pre-order bonus. Obviously looks infinately better on PC on Ultra Settings and full resolution options. I personally play with an xbox gamepad for GZ on PC so it has the exact same controls/handling optimized for the Xbox anyway. You have the option of doing something similar with a PS4 controller so why wouldn't you get it on PC?! basically my point is everything is better on PC :P

I'm maxing GZ (shadows on medium) on 720p with 30+ fps my gpu is hd 6670 ddr3

The Fox Engine may have many flaws but it is one of the best optimized engines for PC games. Example: PES 2015 and Ground Zeroes.
