Let's talk of something no one's brought up: Difficulty!
Previous MGS games let you select the difficulty from the beginning.

What some of the outlets are saying from previews are that there's no Difficulty selection and you'll be sticking to default Normal. Once you beat the story on 1st playthrough, Hard is unlocked (obviously)

So is anyone feeling iffy for not getting to select the difficulty right away?
Not like its something rage inducing or "Refund!" but well, what's your take?

I think it's done like this because of the equipment progression.

some early play sessions reviewer got to do.... stated that equipment and bases start to equip their soldiers better(more anti-air radar, armored dudes, better trained soldiers spot you easier, etc etc) as the game progressed meaning the difficulty jumped a lot when they got to the 2nd map

guessing hard mode unlocks once you beat the game once. but seems kojima took progression difficulty over picking it from the start

MGS saga was really straight forward before, no choices, always going further so selecting difficulty is the 101 of games but this one is very different, its more or less the player that change the difficulty of the game, if you choose to never use buddy or whatever its harder if you ask help on MB its easier for you and theeeeeeen the enemies also changes, get better gear and weapon over time etc

So i actually don't mind if there is no difficulty at all in the game because it will still be a challenge, doesn't matters how you play it will give you a good challenge seeing how the world is made in TPP.

PS: I still think there will be Normal and Hard like Ground Zeroes, i don't really like the "beat one playthrough" to unlock more difficulty, make me feels like I have to rush the game to get the real challenege meh

Actually, I remember that in MGS1, MGS Twin Snakes, and MGS2, you had to beat the game a couple times to unlock the extreme and european extreme difficulties. And in TPP, your first playtrough will be kinda hard, and once you finish it, you will unlock the possibility to replay the missions on a harder difficulty, so it's not really much of a change. You just wont be able to select an easy mode.

I don't think they will lock hard mode like GZ. GZ is a 20min long game so get hard on there was just a way to play again. With a 40+ (not sure the leigth) hour game of TPP it would be stupid to do the unlock of higher difficulty. Maybe if it does exist it will just be a "Nightmare Mode" thing after hard. Even then I think it's dumb.

We still not sure if the game will be like the complete world on normal or hard, or maybe like some says only the missions difficulty might change like in Peace Walker.

I'd like it more of the open world was neutral, like it get harder depending how you play but missions have different diffuclty levels with more guards, different events etc it would be great that way

Most MGS games didnt have the highest dificulty unlocked untill you did a single play trough.

Also gamedificulty on TPP will increase depending on your play style and how the NPC's start reacting

for people that really suck. they will get the chicken head. and they can do it. see that as easy. and normal what is the game now. and hard after u finish the game. difficulty levels are there just not as a normal menu option thing

I think I read on some preview of this game that difficulty increases as you go forward with the game. Plus, the AI is supposed to adapt at your playstyle so it will be hard to use the same ways of doing it over and over

also do you guys remember the ninja stealth suit or the katana ? :D Everyone wanted that one :))) such a ♥♥♥♥ block in MGS2 where you only got it for the last part of the game :(
