I'm talking about intellegence, not the gadgets that are given to them once they are programmed to "adapt".
I'm talking about strategy, pathfinding, etc
they check palces where they saw suspicious activity
they call in missing containers
they do only have a 30m range for seeing fulton extractions when not alerted
They take cover when you shoot. They call for support when you give yourself away. They try to group up and pin you down when you start a gun fight.
They are surprisignly smart. Like I already said.
They also have a preternatural ability to know about snipers. I mean, they can tell if you're using a silenced sniper rifle vs a silenced pistol, even if they can't see the guy you shot.
Sometime you throw something to get their attention and they blindly go into your trap. Some other time they will call Cp and warn them about suspicious noise and reinforcement will arrive if Cp don't hear from the soldier anymore.
Its pretty good. Not the best Ai but its smart.

As for that last part, it is kinda the way Metal Gear has always worked. There are phases of enemy alertness. If you get spotted in the search phase....it goes right back to alert immediately and they are on your ass.
Sometimes i just go crawling through outposts in a straight line and when an enemy sees me they come to investigate the "point" where they saw me at first and not the path i was following.
If you walk with D-Horse through enemy outposts or enemy bases they completely ignore the horse if you are hiding on the side; but if you dismount it they come to investigate "what is the horse doing".
Those are the bad things.
Anyway; they are still giving radio orders like others mgs which is great. They conduct searches working on pairs; call in to reagroup and even have some funny scripted sequences if you like to use stealth-boxes. They will also notice if you stole something (like a vehicle or a big container) when they werent looking. But as i said they wont notice if a fellow comrade disappeared like in mgs2.
