Kojima Worker 1: "Hey guys, what about making the HQ medium sized and compact, so movement to other areas would be fast?"

Kojima Worker 2: "Yeah, that sounds good, like Big Shell in MGS 2!"

Kojima-San "NO! Let's make it BIG! Let's make those connection bridges so long it will take minutes to drive to another location. LET'S MAKE IT SO BIG IT CAN BE SPOTTED FROM THE MOON!!!!! JUST BECAUSE WE CAN!! *maniac laughter*"

I know this is a joke... but you can just get in a box and teleport to the different platforms...
Maybe try using the cardboard box and getting on your delivery point to fast travel between the areas instead of complaining first?
Yeah, I don't like it either. Those connecting bridges...geez. I'd think that if you put everything closer together it'd actually make the base look bigger and more imposing. As it is, someone (like the player) would look at those bridges and say, "um, why...?"

And I always think of Big Shell when I go to MB. Esp. the fact that the default color for MB is a very familiar shade of orange to Big Shell. Makes you think Kojima's up to something there...
I understand ur Point and i asked myself the same Question. Y it has to bo THAT Big?! For me it would be and LOOK better if it were a little bit closer together.
Console load times.

We get the side effect of the solution.

Wait you can do that? How does it work? I never knew you could do that.

Granted, that does fix the fast travel issue, but there is the curious case of why the bridges are so long to begin with.

If that's the case, then ahhh... I see.

U see those orange thingi. Use a box and stand on it. Holding E makes u selecting a area. Btw it works in missions too. Some sends u instantly in a middle of a base.

Yeah visually the bridges are kind of dumb.

If you want to fast travel to different locations, get in the box, and look for the loading platforms (small sections with a little sign of boxes being transported), and hold Y (or whatever). This will then bring up the iDroid and you can select a location. I haven't done this anywhere but motherbase, but I have seen the platforms during missions, so I assume this is a feature that you can use anywhere in the game.

Got to unload and reload all those Npc's and Props. (But in a way that looks natural)

True, and I can imagine some nice invasions from IA or multiplayer. where you could defend and capture area.
It may not be so obvious but the damn long connection bridges do actually have a valuable tactical purpose. They force attacking enemy forces into a tight corridor when they try to move from one platform to another plus if one platform may get destroyed (for what reason whatever) it will simply crash into the ocean without damaging the others.

Use the box delivery system ;)
