What happens if you skip Mission 11, and go to Serak Power Plant?

I've asked this before in some threads, but it never got answered, so I'm asking it as its own thread now.

I got Mission 11 out of the blue while going to Serak to do the mandatory side op. I've since completed Mission 11, but I'd like to know...what happens if you go to Serak without completing the mission?

Is Mission 11 mandatory to progress the story? Will Mission 12 begin even if 11 is not done? Will you be able to come back and complete later it if you choose to head on to Serak without doing it?

Some clarification on this would be much appreciated.

i left mission 9 or 10? out and finished 12, then my game didn't let me choose any other mission, only the tutorial. I had to replay the tutorial, where Shalashaska constantly repeated himself until I shot him with the tranquilizer and I was able to finish it. After that I was able to play mission 9.

Mission 12 only after meeting Huey? Mine no Mission 12 for now.

If you go to the power plant it automatically begins mission 11.

I know, what I am saying is, what happens if I regardless DON'T do Mission 11 when it automatically begins? Cause on the radio, the comms guy keep telling me to "focus on my objective, I can settle the score later".

Another question. Is it possible to not complete this mission AT ALL?

I skipped Mission 11 until I developed a Tranq rifle later and nothing terrible happened.

"Later" means when?

You can't bypass Mission 11, there is a 2nd canyon leading to the power plant, but it's been blocked off by a crashed heli, if you attempt to run past the ruins and ignore the fight you will be informed about going out of bounds of the mission.
If you do not have the gear for beating Quiet you can abandon the mission by returning to the ACC and return once you have researched whatever gear you feel is necessary to beat her.
A tip, getting the Medical 1 prosthesis upgrade and any of the Sneaking Suits / Battle Dresses should prevent you from getting 1-shot by her.

I didn't have that problem. When I first got that battle, I sneaked past her and went ahead to rescuing huey. And I returned for quiet at a later time, after I developed a tranq sniper-rifle.
