Can someone explain the Sneaking Suit's effect?
It says it "eliminates footstep noise" but I still can't even crouch-walk up to a guard without him still getting suspicious at the last moment as if I were wearing some other suit...does it just allow you to get closer before he gets suspicious? I figured "eliminate" meant "gets rid of" since that is, indeed, what the word actually means. :P

It lets you walk faster wihout getting detected.

That doesn't clear up much considering "I still can't even crouch-walk up to a guard without him still getting suspicious at the last moment as if I were wearing some other suit"

It doesn't mean you're invisible. They can still hear you. They just hear you from a shorter distance.

Think of you running normally as a large circle radius around you. Any guards in that radius will loook in your direction, if they see you, that will trigger the next stage of alert, or they'll come to investigate.

when wearing the sneaking suit, that circle is half as large. the circle is still there, but you can get closer before they hear you coming.

Muffling your footsteps, not making them vanish.

Are you certain you've got the suit equipped? I use it and have no issues with being detected while crouch-walking up behind someone. Hell, I can even flat out run at someone from behind and they won't be alerted until I'm within 9m (at which point it's time for good ol' CQC).

as what @gaydad said!
You can now ditch slow walk in the game except for entering indoors due there a lot of objects that make sound. Just avoid objects that make sound or just slow walk at the object it will never make sound.

Also stealth suits and any other suits works great at nightime. Line of sight still affects stealth suit. 50m at day time AI would spots you if your not crawling. 30-20 m at nightime Ai would spots you.

Line of sight still important w/ stealth suit and sound.

Ah! Thanks. In which case...a simple "yes" to this question: "does it just allow you to get closer before he gets suspicious?" would have sufficed. :D

With a regular uniform, you CANNOT approach an enemy for hold up unless you slow crouch.

With a Sneaking Suit, you will approach the enemy for hold up by merely crouching.

To me, that's the most important difference, and it's worth wearing the Suit for just that alone.

To the guy saying it helps you came at night, I don't think so. Although, during the day, there zero came so it's slightly easier to spot you, but I think it's a small price to pay for being able to approach enemies silently for hold ups.

I am often able to fully crouch-walk into hold-up range when using the sneaking suit, and I know guards sense me sooner without it. Sometimes, I can get all the way to a chokehold without being noticed, but that's like 20% of the time. Still, wearing it pretty much guarantees you will avoid alerts when you sneak up on people the right way whereas not wearing it means you have to be more cautious on approach.

the sneaking suit in tpp is horrible in comparison to the sneaking suit in peace walker. the hearing radius is still about 1-3 meters (when walking/running) depending on the terrain type. in peacewalker they wouldnt hear you at all.
