The red ones have way more in them, but why?

There is a symbol on the crate, that is why. Purple and white = biological. Red and white = fuel. I forgot the rest.

But there is no difference.

they are raw mats so when you send it to base it will take time to proccess and make them useful. Good thing is they came in huge amounts and with time given you can pretty much skip the small sh*t collecting

but are the white boxes already processed? because they give way less that it must mean they are already processed versus the red containers

Dude, calm down watch some porn and listen. All big containers are RAW mats. they will be turned into usable mats when miller starts to do some job in mother base. I mean f you are so desperate just assign everyone to base unit

The containers with A LOT of stuff contain it in its raw state, it has to be processed before you can use it for building/developing stuff.
The containers with NOT A LOT of stuff contain processed materials that you can use at once.

There, got it?

Any shipping containers you encounter are going to be unprocessed Raw materials; These are the large containers you will find, and some are red, some are white, but both are unprocessed. These must undergo automatic processing via your MB Development teams, which also mine automatically the same resources, based on what source of resources the base is on top of.

For example the FOBs are all on different sources of water, with different sources of resources to mine, which will add to the total UNprocessed resources, if I'm not mistaken, then undergo automatic processing along with other resources you grab in the field.

The icons of resources on the map that Quiet can find, however, are different. These containers, or more so cases, of resources are only about 100 a piece, but will instantly be available for use on the base, or in other words come already processed. These are more for active "mining," where the player will go out and collect the resources needed for MB. These will usually be more important to gather early on compared to the large containers, as you can usually locate these on the map, and a marker will then show it's location and whether it's regenerated anytime the area is in play.

As for the amount of Raw materials in each large shipping container, I have noticed that it could be possible that Red containers carry larger quantities of raw materials, but are usually rarer to find and are usually heavily guarded.

LOOK AT THIS FRIENDLY AND USEFULL COMMUNITY OF METAL GEAR. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

Okay, here's what I dug up, the tiny white containers that you pick up without fulton, are obviously processed mats.

White cargo containers contain UNPROCESSED materials, lift one up, you'll see it showing up on a right side of resource chart. They contain small amounts of unprocessed resources, 50 PM, 400 MM and 750 of everything else

Red cargo containers contain UNPROCESSED materials, but they have 10 times more of what white ones can offer. 500 of PM, 4000 of MM and 7500 of everything else. They are a little less common, especially the ones with precious metal in it. There are two at the end of OKB zero, if you are interested.

I also saw some weird white container that didn't look like the others, but I don't have much info on that

I feel as if people with a poor grasp of English really shouldn't be trying to answer questions made in English.

This is the first reply that actually understood the question being asked. Kudos to you, Daniel Cheese.

Here's the "other" type of white container, but you'll probably only encounter it durring FOB. Meterials are still raw, contains 2x of whatever you had in normal white containers.

Normal on top, 2x bottom

The post literately right before yours answers your question. They're on FOBs, they have twice as much as the white containers.
