I tried doing that, but by the third dart the bear just noclips to my face and hits me twice before I can do anything, I've tried like four times. Can Quiet help with the tranq rifle?

put 30 tranq and dodge it. when it try to attack. i found a big stone. so i could run arround it most of the time. 2 trang > Run > reload >2 tranq > run > reload and so on!

A single tranq seems to do the job, though it takes a long LONG time.

if tranq too slow for u, just use stun grenade or spam riot SMG. for me its the tranq sniper riffle

this is for the side ops called legendary brown bear rite ?

since that bear have more stamina than the normal bear

I jumped on rock, when this bear agro on me I used smoke grenade (it will keep him on distance) and then tranq him from pistol.

just use the pistol tranq not the smg, that one is pure garbage

8 bullets should suffice (in the head doe)

Tranq sniper rifle took it down in one headshot for me.

Easy, use the shock arm. Dive to evade the bear's attack. Quick sneak behind him. One shock = > down.

Spam tranq or get the god-tier weapon for job like this, the UN-ARC-NL. 7.62x51mm full-auto rubber bullet battle rifle, the blue barrel one. Then you unleash the 20 round mag to the bear and he's out.
It's also great when you are retrieving the twitchin lost Mother Base members, you don't need to spend 30min trying to get tranq headshot but you can just mag-dump the mofo.
Once you get the red-dot sight, you can just pop whole outposts unconsious in matter of seconds.

I just got the same kind of mythical animal rescue side-op if Africa, can't wait.

If the Op spawns in the same place I did it in, you can actually cheese the bear by standing on rocks and using the tranq pistol (unsilenced even) against him. The bear can't climb the rock and so long as you stay on it you can fill it with ammo. Problem may be resupply drop(s?) which you have to run and get and then get back on the rock. But it's possible to cheese the AI that way.

Pretty brutal Side Op for the beginning though.
