[SOLVED] How does one take down the brown bear?

This thing is a walking pharmacy due to the amounts of tranquilizer shots I hit. How do I stun this damn animal?

I think it all depends on wether or not he spots you. I was able to put the legendary bear to sleep with one tranq. shot to the head, he just ran away a bit and feel asleep after 30sec to a minute.

Make sure you're using the sniper rifle tranq, not pistol tranq. They are different in terms of "tranq'ing power." One sniper tranq shot to the head will do the trick. Also make sure you have lvl 2 fultons, as he's heavier than the standard sheep/wolves.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my lvl 3 pistol tranq shot put the bear to sleep after bout 10 seconds. 1 clean shot to the head when undetected. Don't let him spot you, that is all that matters.

Stand on a rock and shoot the hell out of it with non lethal rounds and the tranq pistol. It takes loads of hits.
