Quiet makes an annoying noise?

Has anyone else noticed a strange whiny ambient noise while Quiet is deployed? Is it driving anyone else nuts?

She's humming a tune to tell you that she's ready to fire at her target on your orders. You'll get used to it.

The only complaint I have is that the radio version sounds so different. If you sit next to Quiet when she's aiming it sounds like a normal girl humming and it's pretty cute. But the radio version sounds like a dying cat.

How else is she supposed to tell you that shes ready to do what you want? (Or fire on an enemy) You expect QUIET to TALK to you?

Yeah it's the radio version of her humming that I'm hearing. Repetitive noises like that drive me nuts, but that's fine. I think I prefer D-Dog anyway.

This is actually her way to communicate with you. Remember when Miller said that you cannot communicate cause she doesn't talk? Yea, humming is a sign of "I got an enemy in my sight, ready to shoot"


If you want to know why, read this. MASSIVE SPOILER:

Quiet has the disease the skulls have, if she talks english she will infect herself and everyone in her proximity. Thats why she never talks. Later in the game, she'll save you and sacrifice herself by talking english, she will then proceed to run away from you and you will NEVER see her again, she also left a tape for you. So everyone with the disease spoke a certain language. That means, later in game, when people on your MB get infected you have to look at the infected staff and look at the languages they have in common, that way you are able to tell which one of them is infected and you can dismiss them or put them in quarantine

She could just actually be quiet? I can tell when she's ready to take someone out because I can clearly see her green laser... I don't feel like I need the audio.

Or she could make a quick sound once to indicate readiness, rather than a constant repetitive ready tone?

In any case it's not a big deal, I was just wondering what was going on and if it was only bugging me.

anyway, i like her humming, i also have a decent sound set up for my PC.

It's not really the fact that she's humming but rather the melody which is lame as hell. They should have made her hum a Metal Gear themed melody, not the generic thing that she does.

It sounds like a camera swivelling, right? I think it's her laser sight. The louder it is, the closer it is to you.

It's noticable when carrying a hostage that she decides to aim at, and slightly annoying other times.

edit: or maybe that's just me going crazy. I swear I hear an electronic hum whenever I dispatch with her though.
