how long does it take to complete the main story?????

I've played 15 hours already and loving it i just want to know how long does it take to finish the main story/side missions?

I heard some where that there are 50 episodes for the main story. Also I'm 32 hours in at 23% episode 15 and I did most of the side missions. The game seems pretty long.

I'm 30 hours in and I've only just started 'chapter 2' (around mission 29-30 or so), so it's big. I have done a chunk of side ops, but still, it's a huge game.

I'm at 40 hours and completed the story and have a ton of side-ops to do.

I've also noticed that my missions have additional, optional goals. They are hidden "???" when I start them. And then when I completed it, they get revealed. Which I assume it means I can replay that mission to try to do the extra goals.

30 hrs and at 20% but im doing the side ops, so i dont have to do them later and im not underpowered at the battles. (suffered from that with PW)

Yep, you can replay all missions. I think you even gain whatever items or soldiers you pick up during a replay too. Seeing as most of the higher ranked soldiers are optional objectives in the main story mode, it seems like it's worth replaying some at least.

40hrs in and i'm at 20% completion. But i'm pretty much doing all the side ops, doing resource runs, fulton staff/weap/vehicle/blueprint runs, upgrading as much as i can before i proceed and only on mission 14.

I have more fun with the side missions than the main. 40 hours and only 15 main missions complete. =) So ya....

To be honest, a good chunk of the main ops just feel like more elaborate side ops anyway, with no bearing on the story.

I hope their are more chapters, just got to chapter 2 and around 30% with alot of side ops done, still cant find legendary gunsmith

I'm glad you caught that cause I seriously thought he was for realz.

Anyways though it's nice to see it's a lengthy game. I haven't play a MGS in forever.
